Just seen Niclas Fullkrug's very angry interview after their result at the weekend, and he's definitely not a happy sausage. With us, and them, both having players publicly calling out a lack of togetherness and not fighting for each other it's going to add something to Saturday with both teams having a lot to prove. I can see Potter using the hostility of the Amex towards him as a Fergie style "us against the world" to bring that togetherness out of them which is a worry. What's our thing that's going to bring the players together when we go behind to a goal on the break having spent 25 minutes doing everything except score ourselves? If they couldn't do it for all of us with Palace, and couldn't do it for the Big Boss against Brentford, what's left? Do we have enough Potter-legacy players left in the starting 11 to get back that revenge energy they had when he came with Chelsea?

A clear no is the answer to the last sentence.
Our motivation should be to wrench ourselves out of this current winless (and quite spirit-less) streak.
The Potter factor feels quite irrelevant for this one.

The problem with some teams (see Spurs and United in the league) is that they have given up on the season. Especially as there is no jeopardy this year with such poor bottom three sides.

Albion haven't given up, they've just been a bit rubbish recently.

Except for the fans. And that could be very important for the players.

Think we're going to win this one. Decent run to the end of the season incoming. Then we can switch from 'Sack the manager and tear up the model' to 'We're going to qualify for the Champions League next year' again.

My hostility toward Potter when he went to Chelsea was borne of the manner (taking all the coaches) and timing (during the season) of his departure.

I can’t in all seriousness maintain any serious upset with him, in fact his appointment at West Ham leaves me with some empathy for West Ham fans. I think with the passing of time we forget the madder choices and only remember that final run of games.

I’d like to think that we can generate our own togetherness based on the last few weeks of performances and results. There’s plenty of raw material in that alone.

I will be interested to see how two clubs with players that don’t suit the managers preferred style of play approach this. If we go gung ho I can see another embarrassing defeat incoming. If players like Welbeck have a say we may go conservative and play on the break for a change. Really really hope FH can adjust our tactics to stop the rot and motivate the players. The fans will 100% get behind a gutsy disciplined performance imo.

If we look like a “team” again I can take an unlucky defeat, if we play like we did at Brentford and get stuffed I’ll be continuing to be calling for FH’s head.

Promise not to start another IN/OUT thread either way

Have to say that I am looking forward to this one

I’m guessing Potter maybe wasn’t entirely sure how his West Ham gig was going to go as unless he’s sold his house off market or rented it off market, he still has it in Hove.

The “there’s no way this fixture can ever be a derby” Derby

Although when I’m not wfh, I do sit next to a West Ham fan in the office, so maybe “Pasty’s desk Derby” 😂

A good mate of mine is a WH STH and he told me it's no secret Fullkrug wants away in the summer, not just WH but from the UK. Worryingly he is the exact sort of striker that Dunk struggles with.
He also told me that not many WH fans want Potter out......yet. There is more annoynace at some of their players.
Also worryingly he said under Potter WH have been playing far better away than at home......

Roll on Saturday.......
