Whats the chances we will see carole and knight as wingers/creatives to supply CKR and Torenzio by the end of the month?

Personally, i think this could make us quiet dangerous going forward! Defensively could be a worry though?

Defensively it's be terrifying. Attack wise we'd be asking a lot of questions.

I'd be surprised if we play all 4. It wouldn't be a shock to see 4 3 3 a la Chelsea with The Arg at centre forward and two of Knight, C K-R and Carole on the wings.

Still either formation, would make for exciting viewing and flowing football, I suppose las chelski style would be more solid defensively.

Yeah been thinking that for a while Voroshilov - we could add Jarrett, Harty and jake to the list of poss wingers as well. Something like:-

GK Henderson
RB Dodd CB McShane CB Butts LB Mayo
DCM Nicolas (or Charlie)
MF Reid MF Hammond/Chippy
W/F Carole/Robinson/CKR W/F Leon/Jarrett
CF El Turi (or CKR)

That could be the understatement of the year (defensively) as the thought of Oatway and Carpenter as our only midfield trying to defend and get the ball out wide makes me cringe. Although, Hammond and Nicolas in central midfield with those two wide could be interesting!

I agree, you could not play 442 with knight on the wing and bothe chippy and oatway, but like you say hammond and nicolas are the current choice for the future and i believe are up the task at the moment. But as mentioned by V, a 443 would be even more interesting!

I don't see how Hammond and Nicolas are going to be a huge improvement on Oatway and Carpenter. Where is the evidence that Nicolas is any better than Oatway. Admittedly Carpenter was poor on Tuesday, but when he's on his game he's still a better tackler and passer than Hammond. Hammond gives you more going forward, but that's not the highest priority when you've got two attacking widemen.

At the moment my team would be;

GK Henderson
RB Reid
LB Mayo/Dodd
CB McShane and Butters
Midfield Carpenter Oatway Hammond
LW Knight
RW C K-R
CF Turi

Subs New GKeeper, Mayo/Dodd, Nicolas Carole Robinson

It just gives us so many more options.

CKR, Turi, Robinson, Knight are forward options.

CKR, Jakey, Carole, Knight, Jarrett could play off Turi. Attacking when we have the ball, defending when we don't in the Chelsea style 4-3-3.

Hammond, Chippy, Oatway, Nicolas battling for two or perhaps 3 slots in the centre of midfield.

Reid, Knight, Carole, Jarrett, Hart battling for wide midfield roles - I'd rather not waste Hammond out there, but he can play it.

Wow, we suddenly have a squad.

Where is the evidence that Oatway has not been out of his depth for the last three years?

Do you ever go to matches? :lolol:

Or, it could be that Nicolas was trained by Chelsea and got some matches for them, and Oatway was trained by Yeading and kicking around the lower leagues with no real success when MA picked him up. ???

Well in the previous two seasons Oatway has been a regular in our midfield while we won promotion and then stayed in the Championship. How about answering the question, how is Nicolas better than Oatway?

And was dropped by Peter Taylor when we won the Championship, to be replaced by an unfit Junior Lewis! :lolol:

Yeah, I get to about 30-35 a year.

So your answer is Nicloas is better cos he trained at Chelsea? Loads of youngsters go through the youth set-ups of big clubs and never make it. I don't care who coached him as a 17 year old. I'm interested in how good a player he is now and I haven't seen any evidence that he's better than Charlie.

I can't see how anyone could argue nicolas is better, due to the fact we have not really seen him hold his place in the starting eleven.

So what. At the time I'd have dropped him for Lewis too. But that was 4 years ago and since then Oatway has shown he's capable of competing at a higher level than League 2.
