CCTV outside Brighton station

Unless I am blind, there are no CCTV cameras that face or point to the area outside the station, covering the are near Railway Bell pub top of Queens Road and heading down Queens road to the Traffic lights. Infact the nearest camera is at the top of the North Road junction. Surely this is a hotspot for drunken behaviour at night ?

It's probably a blind spot where the Police can beat people up with no comebacks.

There did used to be a camera on top of international house (the building to the left of you as you leave the station) this has now vanished.

Anybody know why the CCTV has gone ?

No there isnt, I spent around 30 mins looking trhis morning whilst I was waiting for a bus.

there used to be one, but it is not there now.

There is lots of building work being done on the building where there was a camera.

30 minutes ? sounds like you let a few go by

There certainly always was one when I worked in Brighton. Maybe it's temporarily out of use due to building work, but it was definitely there.

I could not see one at all, lots in the station and one down on the juction of North Road but nothing on Queens road leading upto the station or outside the station

Ah well there you go. As I recall it was on one of the buildings, not on a pole, so maybe it's been covered up.

Many's the time I've had to sit through footage from that one to get to the bottom of incidents: as you say, it's a prime location.
