It's a fake..... apart from the fact NOONE could go on that long without realising that you are beginning to sound like a prick Christian isn't THAT bad and he does have a conscience.

Surprised it hasn't been found out already... suggest Christian deliberatley faked it.

"In July 2008, it was reported that Bale had an angry tirade on the set of Terminator: Salvation, while filming in New Mexico.[52] In February 2009, audio of the incident was released.[53][54] The tirade was directed at Shane Hurlbut, director of photography, for Terminator: Salvation and was triggered by Hurlbut stepping onto the set across Bale's line of sight, during filming.[55][56][52] The recording is of a highly agitated Bale screaming profanities at Hurlbut, threatening him, and finally threatening to quit the film if Hurlbut walked on set again and was not fired.[55] It was reported that Warner film executives sent the tape to the insurer of the film in case Bale decided to quit the movie.[57] In an interview with E! Online, assistant director and producer of Terminator: Salvation Bruce Franklin said it was an isolated incident. "If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove...It was the most emotional scene in the movie," said Franklin. "And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed."[58] Actors Whoopi Goldberg and Terry Crews have also publicly defended Bale's actions.[59][60] Lucian Piane, a composer and music producer with the Internet alias RevaLucian, recorded "Bale Out," a comedic techno remix of Bale's verbal rant, which received more than 200,000 hits on MySpace and YouTube in one day.[61]"

Christian Bale is presently the greatest living actor at the moment imo. This is just proof he takes his art seriously as if The Machinist wasn't enough proof.

So what "it's real"? Of course it's real.
The guy is an actor, he summons up something considered to be his life work, and someone who is supposed to know better repeatedly disturbs and disrupts.
The camera rolls looking for one great shot - he's not practicing, he's doing it - that one special performance that will be great, maybe the scene they keep excerpting on the ads, that everyone repeats for generations, that gets played to The Academy on Oscar night..... and some TWAT strolls into his field of vision, cutting the line behind his eyes that's reaching deep into the well, letting drop the bucket filled with syrup of soul.

4 Minutes of anger? IS THAT ALL??

Sounds fake. And shit.

Erm... the crew are all on the record (various sources) saying it DID happen and one of the crew (likely a friend of the DP who got all the abuse) leaked it...

Bruce Franklin; Assistant Director:

"If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove...It was the most emotional scene in the movie," said Franklin. "And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed.".

I've worked on both sides of the camera, in Hollywood.

It's quite understandable for this actor to blow his top, though whoever released it into the public domain is deeper in the shit than Hurlbut now!

Imagine you just spent your student years working up to your profession... you just summoned up the best work you have ever committed, and someone comes in and demolishes it, pulls the plug on your p/c and loses a whole un-save-able chapter that you now have to re-write. Pulls down an exquisite sculpture on the cusp of completion, sprays dayglo over your Michelangelo masterpiece, bins your college degree whole semester, taps a ball into an empty net that you just belted from 40 yards for the goal of the decade, and THEY are offside....

For professionals in the business, the footage indicts Hurlbut, not Bale.

I personally don't care. I work with artistes every day. Often the ones who are the most hot-headed (AKA passionate) are the best and give 100%, whereas the calmer more professional ones fail to come across, and are often perceived to be "phoning in".

Actors are people, some are idiots, others are nice people. Bale obviously is a hot-headed guy but a very talented actor. Maybe if you lost that sparky side of him, you'd lose his acting spark too.

There was a similar case of an error of this kind (well, actually there have been hundreds) but a good example is Lord of the Rings.. when the hobbits are doing their farewell speech to Frodo, a very emotional scene, they realised that they made a few huge continuity mistakes.. so they reshot the next day - got the film back and it was all out of focus..

Apparently a few actors went absolutely mental and said afterwards that the performance we see on screen wasn't as good as the "ones which got away".

The difference is, Bale has previous.

I don't think NSC has ever come across an actor who hoovers up a lot losing his rag...
