TEAM NEWS

Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards, who missed the midweek draw at Southampton with a calf issue, is not yet fully fit and won't be risked.

Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure are long-term absentees but Will Hughes returns after missing two league matches through suspension.

Brighton have an unchanged squad, although changes to the starting XI are expected in the wake of Wednesday's 3-0 home defeat by Aston Villa.

Lewis Dunk made his first start after a rib injury during that game.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • Crystal Palace won the reverse fixture 3-1 in December and could complete their first league double over Brighton since 1932-33 in the Third Division South. They've never managed it in the top flight.
  • These sides have drawn 1-1 in each of the past five Premier League encounters at Selhurst Park. No specific fixture in English top-flight history has ever finished with the same scoreline in six consecutive meetings.
Palace
  • Under Oliver Glasner, Palace have won 41% of their Premier League home matches and averaged 1.50 points-per-game. Only Tony Pulis can better both of those totals as Eagles boss.
  • They have won each of their past three league fixtures at 3pm on a Saturday, keeping a clean sheet in all of them. Palace had only won three of their previous 19 games with similar kick-offs.
  • The midweek draw with Southampton ended their club record run of six successive away victories in all competitions.
  • Ismaila Sarr has scored three goals in his last two home league appearances for Crystal Palace, more than in his first 13 at Selhurst Park for the club. Sarr scored twice and set up the other of their three goals in the victory over Brighton in December.
Albion
  • Brighton suffered a first defeat in six league games at home to Aston Villa on Wednesday (W4, D1).
  • Albion's only defeat in their past eight away league matches was a 7-0 thrashing at Nottingham Forest (W3, D4).
  • Their average of 1.53 points per away game in 2024-25 is their joint highest in a top-flight season, along with 2021-22.
  • Brighton have won five of their seven away fixtures in 2025 across all competitions, only one fewer than they managed in the entirety of 2024.
  • However, the Seagulls are winless in 11 Premier League visits to London since beating Arsenal in May 2023 (D5, L6). It's their longest winless league run in the capital since a spell of 15 defeats and a draw between 1933 and 1936.

I've woken up with a hangover (from five pints?! When did I become a lightweight?!) and have just had to wash clumps of shit out of my cat's tail.

With luck, today will get better but based on how the last hour has gone I'm not confident.

Do any of our players still 'get' the rivalry?
Dunk, Hinshelwood maybe Pedro but I'm not sure about the others.
Zaha, Knocky, Maupay they knew how to celebrate a goal.
