''To sign Undav, Stuttgart is already tying up one of the largest financial packages in the club's history. Stuttgart and Brighton still in tough negotiations to find an agreement.'' So Tony is squeezing them for every penny possible. Would have liked him to stay, but it we get £20m+ then fine. It's all cash to add into the transfer kitty.

It always was a strange decision to let him go. He clearly doesn't want to be here, so hopefully we will get some decent wonga for him.

Exactly! Undav, Dahoud, Fati the list of bad choices is quite extensive then there’s rumours he blocked the KDH deal (and ironically moaned to eveyone we didn’t sign anyone in January).
I reallly dont think he was the Messiah everyone seems to think - I wonder if he’ll follow a similar path to Poyet post Albion?

It seems that our Hürzeler is very much a single striker man regarding his formations.

That striker also needs to be able to swap position and play different attacking roles. Undav was not brilliant at this in the EPL although I realise he was ‘doing it’ in the Bunda.

Currently Fabian has these options (if Undav stays in the motherland):

1. Pedro
2. Welbeck
3. Ferguson
4. Osman (10 appearances at CF last season with 4 goals and 3 assists)
5. O’Mahoney

That should be more than fine.

Most of our best players seem open to moving somewhere else though

Who was the last Albion player to come out and say he’d rather stay here by choice when transfer rumours start as KDH has done about LFC?

We need to move on from Undav and hopefully get a decent fee for him

Didn’t Undav want to leave?

Of all the sticks to beat RDZ with, not sure this is the one.
Isn’t there a quote from Undav about him being unhappy with someone at the club ?

Either way he was let go far to easily

This time last year RDZ was the Messiah so if he didn’t see a place for Undav and Undav wanted out, it was was it was. No need to beat anyone with a stick.

What a crock of shit. It’s been widely reported the lad had personal problems, hence the move back home.

Whilst I’ve not been shy about criticising RDZ’s selections and behaviour since Jan, I don’t think this was a bad one.

If Undav had stayed, there’s every chance he’d not have had anything like the same season for us as he has just had in the Bundesliga. As it is, we’ve got a 20m bonus for a player that we paid 6m for.

So whats becoming clear is that all this time until now Stuttgart have wanted to buy Deniz, but for cheaper than what was in the agreement, if only NOW they are triggering the 20m release clause. Tony has rightly made them pay up.
The clause expires tomorrow, doesn’t it? No surprise that this looks to be going through this weekend.

It does from what I know. So I imagine its been a stand off with Stuttgart wanting to pay say 15m, but Tony has said 'no you'll pay the full 20m please (with this deadline coming closer) and after the deadline if you havent paid the 20m it'll then be 25m or 30m'... Poker pro Tony knows the deadline forces their hand to pay the full fee or walk away.
