Whilst I’m not a fan of the Guardian , their arts section is good .

Its a long list . Maybe if some of the heavy metal / Rock brigade , allowed their ears to listen , they may find a few tracks they like … Just saying . Very under rated band in my opinion in the UK but far more respected in the States .

What’s your favourite DD song ? There are a lot to choose from !

Not a big fan but they were a good pop band. I’ll go for Planet Earth as it made me sit up and take notice, pretty sure it was very different at the time of it’s release

Edit:

:lolol: I posted this before I looked at the choices

Good choices. Save a prayer is my favourite. Not on the list, the 12" single version of hold back the rain is excellent. The naughty videos were pleasing in the 1980.

Fantastic band. Great singer with a unique voice.

I too loved the 80’s and in the States , Duran Duran were the soundtrack for millions of teenagers. Music was a much more important part of growing up than it is nowadays . That’s probably the reason pop music lost much of its individuality and appeal after the mid 90’s . In my opinion .

Not just DD , lots of great unique bands Culture Club , Wham , Tears for fears , Pet shop boys etc

Saw them in Hyde Park a couple of months ago and it was a superb concert, absolutely loved it.

Love all their pop stuff, but the Wedding Album genuinely grabbed me and to hear them perform Ordinary World and Come Undone live still makes me smile.
