That is good. As someone who first started being taken to games around 82, I always assumed that we played in solid blue and that the stripes of 1987 were just something a little different, rather than the norm.

There have obviously been some monstrosities over the year, but it is fun what you can do with stripes to get a variety if different kits. In contrast, I clicked on Liverpools page on that site, and, yeah........

Had you started attending games 10 years earlier you would have assumed that we played all in white, like a South Coast Leeds Utd.

In a pile of football shirts
Certainly used to be but they sold out in August, I believe.
We did indeed, well sold up rather than out. Sadly we were unable to keep pace with evolution in web design, my brother who was the builder of the site, had other commitments and had got out of the website designing business.
So far the new owners haven’t changed anything but apparently they have plans to completely revamp the site.

I’ve since used a whitebox website app to catalogue my collection here Philsfootieshirts

As someone who started in 69 I always assumes our shirts were the same as Sheffield Wednesday's :lolol:

When I was a kid it was often the sponsors on the shirts that reminded you of the teams. Looking back some of those are iconic now and i didn’t realise that sponsors only appeared in around 1983 which was when I started watching football regularly as a 9yr old.

Crown Paints
Draper Tools
NEC
JVC
Sharp
Holtson
British Caledonian

Some great memories.

I do like our late 60’s kit, solid blue with white sleeves. Probably just nostalgia as that’s when I started to go to games.

It’s easy to see why Brighton United were wound up.

Terrible kits. That was never going to work.

My early OCD/autistic sensibilities were often disturbed by the fact that the stripes on the early 70s shirts were invariably slightly off centre....
