[Albion] I feel ashamed of my moan-ups

Two of my friends support Wealdstone FC and Cardiff City FC. (Amex Ruislip will
understand wrt Wealdstone FC. as a follower too.)

They both needed wins today or results to go their way and they simply didn't. They are
both staring down the barrel with very difficult fixtures in the next two weeks.

And yet, here I am I'm moaning about Europe and our manager. I felt ashamed at 5pm tonight.
I was at the Goldstone and Gillingham etc etc. I know we've been lucky in so many ways
but I thank my lucky stars for Tony B. and the team and start appreciating what I've got
while I have it. It may not last.

All moans and worries are relative to the circumstances you’re in.

Hurzeler wasn’t at Gillingham or Withdean so our history is no excuse for him. I’m actually Hurzeler in - but I can understand why some have their complaints and I don’t think our long term history is a reason for people not to complain.

When the club is targetting top half of the PL and spending huge amounts of money to try and achieve that and more, then fans expectations naturally rise as well. I expect a certain level of performance depending on our status in the pyramid. I expect my manager to understand the opposition and the right balance between attacking and defending.
I've watched non-league football and heard moaning like you wouldn't believe. I actually think our fans are pretty patient. It might have benefitted Hurzeler to have underperformed a bit more...i.e dampened down expectation a bit. The fact that we rallied strongly after 0-7 probably raised hopes too high, coupled with some crucial injuries.
Moaning is part of being a fan. If you are excessively optimistic all the time, it will come back to bite you. Moaning doesn't mean not getting behind the team at games. Its usually reflective and reactive, after the event.

Evening Steve, everyone's entitled to a groan every now and again, don't feel guilty for that.

Re-Wealdstone, they have been inconsistent of late.
I do know this for myself and from my Wealdstone mate also.
It would help if they could keep hold of a loyal manager ???
Perhaps the distraction of moving to new premises (allegedly), on the site of the old Master Brewer hotel on the A40, hinders progress for anyone connected.
Always routing for them 😁

What's happened to Des Walker's son, Tyler.
Has he gone back to Lincoln ???

Alright Phil, I think that Wealdstone are desperately hoping to move to the Hillingdon site - new (green/brown) field site and all that.
But they have to stump up a load of matching cash and that might be the sticking point. I think Des Walker's son has gone back - yes.
I was at the FGR match the other day and they played really well. I just think they need a fresh start.

Hope you're doing well mate.

Hopefully they'll get their chance sooner rather than later 🤞
All good here ta, enjoying the ride both life & Albion 😂

Agree on the Cardiff front, good mate doesn't need me to moan about our diabolical form.

Wise words.

A footballing slant on the "there's always someone else worse off than you" perspective.

Point of order (I can see some mocking replies), you are quite correct to double-take the landscape.

Just consider your typical ManUre supporter at work.
"Teams like United should be winning trophies every year.
We haven't won the Premiership or the Champions' League for ten years and have only won the FA cup a few times recently.
Robin Alamo is out of his depth. He should never of been appointed.
This club deserve better. We've seen it all. We've won the lot."

Despite the @Guinness Boy reset on what is the new normal,
if I ever hear a Brighton supporter talking like that, it will be metaphorical dry slap time (i.e., a raised eyebrow and possibly some tutting).
But of course I won't hear such weaselcrackpiss at the Amex because dweebs like this only watch football on the telly.

As eloquent and beautifully put as ever HWT. Ta.
