Apart from the original home of HP sauce, Market Harborough always reminds me of one game in particular. Around '87 away to Northampton in the FA Cup, a glorious win with Nelson on form again. It kicked off everywhere, they tried to rush the away end and it was greeted with laughter. Then outside there was running and outbursts of violence at every turn. We were just teenagers and one of our gang of four said 'If anyone asks we're from Market Harborough!' A few minutes later we turned a corner and a car screeched onto the pavement, then four big grown up men jumped out - 'Where are you from lads?' We all squealed in our broken teen voices 'Market Harborough!'
With that they gave us thumbs up, climbed back in their car and drove away.
Home game for me that was so no bother of saying what I was from, 10 miles up the road.
It was kicking off big time at the roundabout to Abington Park.
Is that the game we had Tony Meola in goal for us?
