I noticed the "best song you've heard today" thread has 1m views which is quite something so had a look for the most popular thread. Anyone know why the top two have got so many, especially with so few posts? What happened in October 2003? Or is it just a system error?

With 128,000 posts, assuming each post takes an average of sixty seconds, that is 2100 hours or 88 full days spent arguing about Brexit. Quite impressive.

I suspect @Exiled in Exeter has no idea that his long forgotten 6-post thread has accrued over 150 million views

I can only think it must have appeared in millions of people's worldwide search results, but I can't for the life of me think what those searches might have been for.

My best guess would be that somebody let it slip on WACCOE that there was an NSC post saying Hull got more fans for Swansea at home than The Leeds United did, and every The Leeds fan in the world immediately logged in to correct that statement.

21k gate for two strugglers at the bottom of League Two at the time does seem worth the effort of opening the thread though. Even by todays standards.
