Did anyone see the front of the News of the World today? Picture of Best with yellow jaundice looking thin and weak. He had it taken to discourage others from drinking their lives away like him.

Very sad.

my dad was an alcoholic and died from it 3 years ago. sadly this picture is shockingly familiar, not so much the jaundiced skin but a man with the look of death about him.

i very very much hope he pulls through but this doesn't look good and the consultant's comments seem similar to what we were told. if he doesn't make it the next few days/week will be truly terrible for the family. end stage liver disease is a lingering death.

IMHO (and ready to be flamed), he wasted a second opportunity of life. I know alcoholism is a disease, but, as empire says, he was given a perfectly good liver that could have gone to someone that would have treated it well, not tried pickling it.

How many times does a man need to be told "Stop drinking or you'll die!"?

no sympathy what so ever,arsehole end off,yes a disease but millions have recovered although always remain one,he had a choice and made his end of,my thoughts aint with him at all.

Best had a choice and made it. Four Miss Worlds is hardly pissing it away is it. Would rather have that and die at 59 than some old munter for all your life and die at 80
