If I remember correctly MM signed a 2 year deal.

Is it time DK signed him up for longer.

If he did then it would show real commitment by MM and hopefully rub off on some the players like Leon.

I have no doubt this will be worked on in the coming months. His firtst year isn't up until October so a while yet.

Coppout was offered a new contract in the summer, quite a few months before his contract was due to finish.

I hope MM doesn't hang around thinking it over like SC did.

Even if he does sign it means nothing when a bigger club come sniffing around. We will always face this problem when we have a measure of success until managers see us as a big club with the right facilities. Not long now hopefully! :)

2 factors:

1) if we stay up then yes not doubt about it sign him on longer

2) if we get Falmer or other confirmed during the season he may himself want to stay longer

Mark McGhee has made no secret of the fact he still feels he can manage at the highest level, but wanted to see out his Brighton contract to prove he is not a serial defector. I beleive he will, but if a large club came looking and had compensation, I think DK would let him go. I think McGhee will see out his contract and see if there is a bigger club in the offing. I think this is fair enough.

What really impresses me about McGhee though is how he is laying foundations for the future - he should be really admired for this for whatever happens, he is making his successors job a lot easier.
