So, post FH presser it sounds as though Veltman and Lamptey are out. Dunk and O'Riley could be fit, and Mitoma should be fit.

I'd go

Verbruggen
Hinshelwood, JPvH, Webster, Pervis
Baleba, Wieffer
Minteh, Georginio, Mitoma
Welbeck

I'd bench Joao Pedro and Gomez to avoid having 6 starters coming off the back of playing in different continents.

Quite fancy Wieffer to start to give us a bit of robust-ness in midfield, but that may just be a bit of PTSD from the last time we met. I'd expect FH to go with Ayari, though.

Yep, I’d go with exactly that team.

Pretty spot on, I agree Ayari will probably get the nod over Wieffer, otherwise I think this will be the XI. Pedro and Gomez to finish the game

I also like that selection, but we might see different selections at CM and CF. Two points worth flagging up: if we're talking starters and finishers, then we might want to have our best penalty takers on the pitch at the end, just in case it goes to penalties (which I think is unlikely, but still a possibility); we have got three games in c165 hours, ie just less than a week so ensuring that we have sufficient freshness during this period will come into play, particularly with the potential for this one going to ET and penalties.

Not much to disagree with there. I wouldn't be that surprised to see Ayari start ahead of Wieffer. He only played a half in their defeat at Luxembourg whereas I think Wieffer was heavily involved for the Dutch against Spain twice.

I also wouldn't be that surprised to see Adingra start over Mitoma - maybe 45 mins each. And yeah, Welbeck to start over JP.

Atari too light weight to start against Forest

Backline looks good, and obvious. Would be shocked if any of those are benched.

Mats has played less than 70 minutes since the beginning of this calendar year. I think he has close to a 0% chance to start this quarter final. Ayari didn't play in the 7-0 loss so no reason to have PTSD about him starting. Though could also be Diego Gomez, wouldn't surprise me.

Agree with your take that Welbeck should start, but think it'll be JP.

Perhaps this would make sense considering their physicality and wing play, and our lack of a natural RB? I very much doubt we would experiment in a cup quarter final, mind.

Bart

Minteh
Dunk
Webster
JP
Perv

Baleba
Hinshelwood
Georginio

Joao Pedro
Welbeck

Obv more likely it'll be:

Bart

Hinshelwood
Webster
JP
Perv

Baleba
Ayari
Georginio

Minteh
Welbeck
Mitoma

Yeah we looked real firm and solid when we missed him and Baleba last time around against Nottingham...

Yeah, the team pretty much picks itself based on form, workload, injuries and minutes. That is unless FH is going to try some new system, which seems very unlikely given most of the squad won’t have been around for any training.

Yep. Decent that. Although he'll go with Ayari. Matts on later to do his usual closing up shop act. Would be happy to see him or gomez start as well though. I really hope he doesn't muck about with the defence. This game gets lost on one roll of the dice / risky gamble.

Nope - came off the bench in injury time in the first leg and stayed on the bench in the second.

Like he did against Forest? That's a 'no' from me then.

That is a bad trade. What if the forest doesn't produce trees as well as the team scores goals lately?

Wieffer came on in injury time in the first game against Spain. He was an unused sub in the second game. His total game time was about 4 mins.
