Well 30 years after the much loved snowman they have mad the snowman and his snow dog which was on tonight at 8.

Hard to top the magic of the original however still found it moving and enjoyable.

I watched it too. From the original it was James in his Albion striped pj's as he left Ditchling (home of Raymond Briggs) and flew with the Snowman over Brighton and then left.

30 years on and the new kid lives near F**king Selhurst next to the transmittor and along with the Snowman nick a plane to get to Lapland. I think they missed a trick too when the Chinese snowmen landed at Lapland in their balloon - Surely they should have been made out of yellow snow !?

Thought it was OK, and thought it looked like Sussex coast still with Beach Head lighthouse etc.

Some very nationally stereotyped snowmen tho :p The dog was cool. Family didn't think it was as well drawn as the origional but meh

Based on the Iphone app of "the snowman and the snow dog" the kid lives in Hastings. Did think it looked like the Sussex coast line.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Enjoyed reading a profile of Briggs the other day and him being the utmost curmudgeonly old englishman, not having a single nice word about either children or christmas. He describes the first Snowman as an introduction of the notion of death to children.

Watching on Channel Four + one.

Flying over the Crystal Palace transmitter. ??? Wish Snow dog had taken a dump in the air. Good programme with better animation although the music's a bit heavy on it.

He was always very friendly to the young Bracknell children and was very happy to autograph the VERY tatty copy of Father Christmas that they had read 100 times. I have an autographed copy of When the Wind Blows as well, with a nice dedication.

Lancing
It was released as a short film before ET - The Extraterrestial in 1982. Not many people know this.

Beachy Head is below the cliffs, isn't it?
This looked above.

I am sure I saw Lancing College at some point and what could have been Shoreham Airport.
Basically it was The Snowman all over again with the addition of a dog. 5/10
