This is something I can agree with you on. Really enjoying it ... a bit different with some interesting characters and excellent acting.

One of the opening scenes is set in the Italian restaurant San Carlo. It's a fantastic, buzzing place, with great quality, good value food. Very popular with footballers. Recommended, if you ever find yourself in central Liverpool.

Found the scene setting a bit tedious but I guess it was necessary, now enjoying it and have just watched Episode 3.

I always think of Sean Bean in Sharpe so was shocked to see how badly he has let himself go

Used to watch Sharpe with my teen daughter back in the day, had great fun predicting the timing of each episodes allocated, " You Bastard ! "

Bloody brilliant series by the BBC. 'Michael' was superb, he's destined to go onto bigger things.
KIN was very good as well...if you like your crime / gangster drama! Have to say, so much better than Gangs Of London, as the third series has become very unbelievable and 'Hollywood' script writing.
Without saying too much....Series 2 will be set up nicely.

This hasn't grabbed me yet.

Halfway through Episode 3 and honestly some of the scenes reminded me more of a bad reality TV show with miserable Scousers popping off to have secret chats with one another.

And it's so dark, visually. I've had to turn the brightness up on the telly.

I'm halfway through so I'll finish it but it's been pretty meh for me.

Stuck with it and ended up enjoying it. It got much better from Ep. 4 onwards and the last couple were brilliant.
