What was your first car?

Seeing how there's always a bit of young driver chat on here and I'm a recent qualifier myself - what was your first car?

Mine was a rusty but surprisingly nifty old Ford Fiesta. And it came with an Albion sticker on the back, so it was love at first sight. Unfortunately, it consumed more engine oil than petrol so it had to go. But, like someone's first woman, the memories will always be fresh as a daisy.

Fiat Uno, pretty nippy little motor just a bit unreliable, although better than the astra that I had afterwards which stalled whenever you took it out of gear.

My mums snot green Renault 5. Despite it being the ugliest car ever built, it was actually not a bad car (until some blind old man tried to cut it in half with his Volvo).

1) speedo zeroed
2) It cut out

-- after warrenty ran out --

3) clutch failed 30,000 miles
4) exahust failed 30,000 miles
5) indicator switch failed
6) power streering chamber leaked and needed replacing.

M reg escort. I have had it 3 years now, always starts first time and can still do over 400 miles on a full tank. Only problem I have with it is the windscreen freezes on BOTH sides!

So was mine, as was my second. My first was an R reg which I then sold to my brother for £350. Three weeks later, the engine blew up.

Shared my dads Toyota Corolla, before splashing out on a white Mini Metro. Painted the front spoiler with gritty black drainpipe paint, stuck a rear-windscreen 'Metro' sticker across the top of the window, and thought it looked the BIZ.

A little yellow mini. I loved that car and was sad when it finally gave up the ghost.

Mark 2 Cortina. White with a black vinyl roof and Capital Radio sun visor.

Finally blew it up on the M4.
