What's the best bike shop in Brighton?

I need to buy 2 bikes for my boys, aged 5 and 7.

I can't buy rubbish Halfords bikes again, as they fall apart after about a day and I don't want bikes looking like fire engines or power rangers.

A bit of decent service would also be a bonus.

Any ideas?

Is that bike shop in Blatchington Road still there? I have no idea what they're like but the last time I was in that area they seemed to have quite a few bikes in stock.

Evans cycles are really helpful and have an excellent range of bikes......otherwise Rayments...not sure how good they would be for the littleun's though.

Sydney Street Bikes. That's where I got my daughter's. They made sure it was her right size and it's a good sturdy bike that's now lasted 15 months and still looks pretty good.

Have always been impressed by the service in Sydney Street.

Avoid the Raleigh place by the Old Shoreham Road in Southwick like swine flu. The customer service I got there a few months ago was so poor that even now, thinking about it makes me want to go out and commit a random act of violence.

I got mine from Syd's cycles on portland road. Good for independent advice, seemed to want to sell me the right bike, not the most expensive one.

The shop along blatchington road is still open, no idea how good it is.

Sydney Street are excellent for servicing bikes too, they gave my old rustheap a new lease of life for only about £20 the other week and went about it impressively well - very good and very nice fellas in there. Chavs of Halfords 0 Sydney Street 4

Find out wthe name of a good quality bike and then get it off ebay.
I got a fab shogun razor disc for my boy for less than half price - at that age, they wont be abused as mum or dad will have been with them..
