I’m not saying it’s the wrong thing to have given them the break, but after Saturday’s performance I can’t help feeling they should be doing grudging laps round a muddy pitch in Lancing.

What is interesting is that, to the best of my knowledge, not a single player has made a social media post after Saturday's game, and that's very, very unusual. Many of the players don't go into hiding on the back of a poor result.

So I do wonder if they've been given a few days off - it would be particularly valuable to those who had long-distance travel during the international break, immediately followed by three high-intensity games.
