Hmm, she’s got some pretty loathsome opinions as I recall, but it’s pretty humiliating for Rishi

I'm struggling to recall who she is.
She is the former wife of the former Dover Conservative MP Charlie Elphicke, convicted sex offender

As far as herself is concerned (from Wikipedia), in July 2021, she was one of five MPs found to have breached their code of conduct by the Commons Select Committee on Standards for attempting to influence senior judges in November 2020 in her husband's sentencing appeal after his conviction for sexual assault. The committee recommended that Elphicke and two other MPs receive a one-day suspension from parliament. She apologised for her actions.

On 17 March 2022, Elphicke attended a protest against the mass sacking of 800 staff members by P&O ferries in Dover. She was heckled by some protestors who blamed her party for laws that allowed the sackings to take place which she called "nonsense".

I look forward to a full and frank explanation for NE's defection, and the reasons why labour felt inclined to accept this Pauline conversion.

She'll fit right in, I'm sure

Being pretty politically unaware, how do these things work? Once she announces she's leaving, does the other party have to accept her? Or does she issue a 'come and get me plea' to all interested parties?

It strikes me that she's not doing it for the good of her own constituents, more to save her own skin when the Conservatives get a pasting at the next GE. Surely Labour would have one of their own in place, not a Tory reject?

Immediately thought of this saga, horrified to see she's been welcomed to the party.

Sunk is deflecting in PMQT by asking Starmer questions. For example, does he defend a comment made by a Labour person about the 'equivalence' between Bibi and Hamas. A comment made prior to the current outbreak of smiting. Unbelievable old bollocks. He'll be on about Jeremy Corbyn in a minute.

As it happens, in terms of equivalence, while accepting that Hamas 'started it' (the current smiting) Bibi has killed far more Palestinians than Hamas has killed Jews, so the estimation of equivalence depends on the parameter chosen as the index.

Just for the record, Labour have shifted so far away from Corbyn that a tory MP, not noted for her affinity with socialist causes, has just defected to Labour. We await her statement of contrition, of course, which could be whopping, if not whoppas, but even so..
