Hi guys

Can anyone advise me on a decent free replacement for photoshop?

The main thing i want it for is to be able to edit pics for the web so i can post pics from Portugal next week as i did last year, however then i had photoshop which reduced pics very easily.

Cheers
Gav

What are you doing, taking a laptop? And what camera are you using, something with some jpegs, or raw files?

Yes mate taking laptop and the cam is a sony alpha slr, the pics will be jpeg's i can choose various settings including raw files but its just easier to stick with jpegs.

I dont really want to use a 3rd party host like photobucket etc, so just want to be able to convert for web.

Give Picasa a try,its free

Cheers mate, i downloaded Irfanview, which seems to do the job but no harm in having others as a back up so thanks again.

Its definitely not a toolbar, it should be a full windowed application. GIMP / GIMPshop are just as good if not better, I just suggested paint.net due to it being an easier program to use for simple tasks such as resizing.
