Not worried by Hull

2 games in 4 days should be no problem at all at this stage of the season. Even if they are dead on feet at Swindon they will recover in 2 days

First time cup has been played before league apparently.

Feels very strange , like the season has started but not quite.

Prefer the league as the opener really.

Cant see cup results impacting league games to much , hard to read into at this stage. That said , a few injuries and sending off's would be handy for Hull

I thought the 1st round was scheduled for w/c 13th August? Have all these clubs mutually agreed to do the sensible thing and move the ko to today?

agree, makes the cup feel even more insignificant...I'm sure Gus will play his first 11 though in order to get them ready for Hull.

I think it's MUCH better having the cup first; crowds will be up for sure. It could actually stop the demise of this competition.

Wolves needed sudden death pens to see off aldershot. Early season rust? Underdogs stepping up? Favourites too confident? A sign for the season ahead?

I got my fingers burnt by backing Wolves to beat Aldershot @ 4/11 in 90 mins. Luckily it didn't matter as I had a double with Brazil to win the Olympic mens football final against Mexico but it goes to show that it's not worth betting on favourites in this round of the League Cup as the competition means very little nowadays to most clubs.
