Glad he's got himself fixed up. A great pro, ambassador and bloke but has limited ability and is not the type of player to help us if we get to the Championship.

Those that we have released either permenantly or on loan will have found their level but still cannot understand Dickinson going to Posh in The Championship.

Perhaps iif you thought of it as "Posh, doomed to relegation to league one" and added "Posh, managed by his former mentor, Jim Gannon" it would be easier to understand

Interestingly Poyet is making the same positive noises about Andy Whing as he did about Tunny.....gone but not forgotten and by no means out of the picture.............do not be entirely surprised if he does come back for pre-season.

Maybe not knowing who will be available to bring in during the summer might be playing a part. After all, Hoytes on Loan til the end of the season and Calderon is on a short term contract and may get snapped up by a bigger club before we secure his services long term.

I thought Whing is fairly solid if unspectacular, someone who gave their all every game making up for their short comings, without his effort and example last season, we would most likely be playing division 2 teams instead.

He could possibly be a good squad player for us next season, and could still have a future here, especially if he does well out on loan. Good Luck Whingy

In a proper footballing side full backs are vital. They need pace to get up the line and back to defend. Most important ho is that they are comfortable on the ball. Whing however has neither of these things. He is slow and has a very poor first touch - not as bad as Dickenson but still very poor for someone that plays football every day. His passing / distribution is also a hoof. Whing is a Micky Adams / Graham Taylor type, stay in position and kick the ball as far into the distance as possible if it comes near him type of full back. Can't see him fitting into a pass and interchange position football team that Poyet seems to be building. Notihng against Whing personally but the fact that English football is cluttered with such unskillful players is the reason why England are utter garbage despite all the money and resources pumped into English football. In comparison the poorer nations of Spain / Brazil can and do play football.

Well something went wrong because when he first joined us he was bombing forward and looked a class player.

Actually, I don't see his forward play as being too much of a problem, in fact, it is a strength. It is his defending which is sometimes shocking and for a full back, that is the main part of his job.
