Wasn't expecting that.

I can't stand the ****.
But that is purely tribal.

He's been incredibly successful in that role.

This terrible news for them. He's done a great job there.

And unlike us, you know they won't have succession planning all done, so hopefully they'll be back to 15th next season once any crap new signings are bedded in. 👌

am I the only one surprised by Saudi having a second professional division? Given that the attendance in the Saudi league are mostly in the hundreds, how many watch Div 2?

For further context the Saudi Div 2 is actually their third tier of football. So he’s left Palace to join a side who’ve just been promoted from their equivalent of League 1.

One whiff of the Saudi gravy train and Dougie Howser MD couldn't wait to get out of Selhurst. He's entombed his career at the foot of the Saudi pyramid.

The one thing that makes this very unlikely is that the ground is shit and there is little they can do about it, as we have seen.

If you are a foreign investor you want:
1) growth for the brand which means you don’t want the likes of Chelsea, spurs, West Ham and Chelsea on your door step.
2) A very impressive stadium or the ability to build one.
3) A sleeping giant
4) A massive existing Uk following ( the and Newcastle have this) and the ability to build abroad.

palace don’t have any of these, TBF we have a nice stadium and aren’t too close to London but that’s about it.

Going on a fact finding mission to St James Park ahead of their own Saudi takeover

I actually admire the stance of any fans protesting against, let’s just say, “this type of thing” but indeed, they should also be prepared for when their own doorstep gets shit on. Even we need to acknowledge that things can change for the worse quickly and easily.
