So where are the articles of impeachment against the signal chat gang ?
They should be sacked for lies and incompetence but, they are going to get away with it. There is no decency, honour or credibility in the Republican party or government.

In all seriousness, I do genuinely now believe they think they've done nothing wrong and they mean it! I think they're being sincere in their belief that there's nothing wrong in the chat. They'd have rather not get into this little pickle, but they don't really think there's anything materially wrong in that chat. Mental.

I don't see it that way. Gabbard pretended it wasn't classified on Monday, and then the next day she explained that she hadn't correctly remembered what was said, but highlighted that she wasn't saying the sensitive stuff. She knew. They all knew.

I don't. I think they are doing the same as they have done time and time and time again – trying to bullshit, deflect and bluff they way out of a situation. By blaming someone – or something (Trump suggested it was the fault of Signal yesterday) – else, rather than holding their hands up and saying they facked up.

It's hard enough in this day and age to say sorry or admit that something went wrong – and it's certainly never going to happen with these people!

Trump and all of his Cabinet know exactly what they are doing. Indeed, they will all be getting a kick out of being able to lie with impunity, as this demonstrates that under Trump they know - if they didn't before - they are completely untouchable.

In his presidential election campaign of 2016 Trump said that Hillary Clinton should be locked up for using a private email server for government business. There was a federal review and she was charged with no crime, with the FBI saying there was no evidence the emails had been hacked or the government compromised. Yet Trump repeated those 'lock her up' claims again after she had been cleared in his campaign of 2020. He said in a November 2016 speech in Virginia Beach, Virginia:

"Hillary is the one who sent and received classified information on an insecure server, putting the safety of the American people under threat.
The rigged system refused to prosecute her for conduct that put all of us, everybody in this room, everybody in this country at risk. Hillary Clinton went to great lengths to create a private email server and to bypass government security in order to keep her emails from being read by the public and by federal officials,"

The Signal Chat Gang breach is far worse than anything Hillary did, and you can guarantee that if it was Biden's team that had done this Trump would be all over it.

Absolutely, but I know loads of people have that thread on ignore, and this is a bigger standalone story than Trump’s latest ghastliness.
I now have the Krasnov thread on ignore as I want to minimise his tentacles getting into my brain.

However, a separate thread like this is useful and I hope we have separate threads in the future for Greenland, Panama etc. when his invasions kick off.
