Thanks good report. Personally if im paying for the beamback i would want a seat. Couldnt the club bring in some temp fold up chairs to suppliment the benches?Overall impressions of the beamback: got there 30 mins before kick-off. Very small queue to get in. Efficient entry. 1st member of staff scans your ticket, 2nd mos gives you a pink wristband, 3rd mos gives you a drinks voucher. Efficient bar service, drink served in seconds on production of voucher. Subsequent drinks also served efficiently with little or no queues. No need for clunky app either, just pay by card exactly same as on concourse. Multiple screens everywhere, you'd be hard pushed to find a restricted view of the action. It was easy to move around, plenty of space, and because it was enclosed, there was no wind tunnel effect as was reported in midweek. No restrictions on going upstairs, which was nice. Didn't order food, but it looked pretty good from what I could see. Also from what I could see you'd be hard pushed to find somewhere to sit down and eat it. As with Dick's Bar, the seat-hoggers were out in force and fiercely guarded every available seat. Mildly annoying, tho I guess there's not a lot that can be done about that other than employing somebody to zap some of the hogger-buggers with a cattle prod occasionally pour encourager les autres.
Overall I found it a quite impressive space to watch a beamback and would recommend it to anyone who is able to watch an entire match without any guarantee of getting a seat. Not sure I'd fancy the downstairs congestion on a matchday though.
