I'm absolutely OUTRAGED (until the next MSM fishing headline) when I'll be even more OUTRAGED without reading the actual story :lolol:

A spokesperson for Mitchell and Butlers said the tree was cut down after the company was advised by arboriculture experts that it caused a “serious health and safety risk”. “We are grateful to our expert contractors for warning us of this hazard so swiftly, allowing us to act before anyone was harmed."

Hmm - my experience of arboriculture experts is that ALL trees cause a risk. It's amazing what gets cut down before it really needed to be.

There is a certain risk to all arboriculture. Getting your tree cut down before it really needed to be is a real risk. Ask the vasectomy doctor.

Yes - fair enough. That's basic woodland management though - not 'immediately because of a severe health and safety risk'. And if old trees are dying then they can be gradually lopped keeping them safe whilst still providing important habitat - not just felled straight away.
