I think it’s arrogance. Pretty much the entire football world would have thought a team battling for Europe in the toughest league in the world appointing a 31 year old from the German second division was mental. We tried to be too clever.

I’ve read some people on here defend Hurzeler by saying we’re doing what we do with players - investing in him for the future and hoping for pay back in the future. If that really is the case, that is naive bullshit of the highest order. You can get away with that with individual players you can hide in the under 21’s or on loan in Belgium, not with the man in charge! He needs to know what he’s doing now.
Pretty much the entire football world has been banging on all season that we've done it again and found another gem. Now, to be fair I've never been convinced but let's not rewrite history.

We beat Newcastle and Chelsea in the cup. We weren't dumped out, we were just facing possibly the best defence and penalty taking team in the country. Not good but not punishable by getting the sack.

FH is a manager who is learning. If he is making the same errors in a few years time, we should bin him off but what sort of moronic ownership would recruit a young manager with a huge future in order to develop him (like we do with players) then sack him off after he has made a few errors but has had to cope with the worst injuries in the premier league (by far) and a defence (looking at our next fixture) which most Championship clubs could tear to pieces.
Agree with the gist of what you're saying, but a few years? Sorry, that's just too long.

I said it earlier, check out the BHAFC video of the players arriving at Brentford before the game. They all look terminally depressed. Dressing room has gone
No, no! Fab is the greatest manager since before managers were invented. We just need to give him another 350 games to get things right.

Have they? Genuinely not seen or heard that and I watch/read/listen to a lot of football.

In fact, I’ve seen/read/heard the opposite a few times.

A very disappointing end to a season that held so much promise.

I really, really hope that this genuinely is a learning/transition season and net year we'll be an unstoppable machine.

I also hope that JPVH is ok and it's all just precautionary and he'll be good to go for next week.
We won't be - nor do I expect us to be. My hope is that we finish in a higher position, with more points and possibly in a European spot.
If we don't, yet stay within the top 10, that's simply a disappointment, but in no way a failure.

If we had played with the intensity and urgency that we did for the 15-20 minutes or so after the sending off for the rest of the game, we'd all be fairly happy

THIS!

When we play with intensity we are a dangerous team.

When we knock it around slowly we are a soft target.

As soon as we lose the ball we are wide open.

Ok your not going to answer the question, fair enough.
None of the staunch Fab ins ever do, I read a lot of fluff but nothing concrete.
I'm not going to answer your question because you added an absolutely moronic premise prior to the question that I reject.

"you must be happy with the tactics that have seen us get dumped out of the FA cup and European places."

My pet hate question of football fans where do we get a better manager from? It’s not our job to find a manager.
Our last manager was way better than this one so It’s not mission impossible.

Happy clappers also do that about players. People say we should’ve signed a DM, the reply is go on then, name some. Not our job, StarLizard and scouting fills that role.

It’s the most ridiculous lazy question. Like the average fan has access to the data, go travelling the world to make sure the data ( we don’t have) is correct in its assessment.
Idiots.

How was the beach - bit too windy, waves too big, ice-cream too expensive, noisy family next to you, rubbish all around, sea smells a bit, saw a cloud, loud music from somewhere, bit of gyp somewhere...ad nauseum? :)

It really doesn't. At worst it's a mistake - a mistake that 90% of Brighton fans were hugely excited about. If it hasn't worked then so be it.
90% 😂

I felt it was a huge gamble at the time… I guess I cautiously optimistic at best, but felt it might well turn out to be an utter car crash too…

90% hugely excited??? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm no.

That’s 90% horseshit.

He’s done alright, but he’s not going to be a great coach, unless he can prove he can learn… I’m still waiting on this tbh.

Meh really… C-

Like all fans I was absolutely delighted with the run of results after the Forest defeat. But and it’s a big but, it’s clear that was the outlier for the season. Either side we have had a wretched run of form which has included our worst defeat in 60 years and a double Palace league defeat for the first time in 100+ years.

Yes points wise we are on for one of our best ever season but with the summer investment building on what RDZ had built surely that was the bare minimum to be expected?

I don’t say what I say to be popular. If I was trying to win a popularity contest I’d just say “AWFUL WE’RE SUNDAY LEAGUE KICK FAB OUT NOW” every time we lose and just harvest a load of likes off Junior and the rest of the crowd who seem to enjoy us losing a lot more than they enjoy us winning.

I’m not saying Fab is perfect, far from it, he’s learning on the job in the toughest league around. But our run from the Forest debacle through to the FA Cup 1/4 final was one of the best we’ve produced in a long time, and I don’t recall too many complaints about the manager or the way the team were playing then.
I am99% sure Fab will be here next season. He will have a performance review with Tony and Paul in the summer and move on to the new season. If it's all turned to shit by January (I don't think it will) Tony may fire him then.
