Absolutely dreadful today, if he goes tomorrow I could not care less.
Agreed. But that has to be on Fab to work out. It simply has to. You can’t say ‘we can only play this style if Rutter is fit and we have fast defenders’ but still play that style if Rutter isn’t fit and we don’t have any fast defenders, which we haven’t had for donkeys.I don’t disagree, but just as much as Dunk being the common denominator is when we play without Rutter. FH’s system is heavily reliant on the role he plays, without him the lack of identity is even more noticeable.
Genuinely why are you IN?I wonder which way THIS poll is going to go, having just lost 4-2...
(In, by the way. And probably IN the minority. But I couldn't care less. It's not like I have any say in the matter.)
And as I've said before. We had the same last season when playing on 4 fronts. We spent big and on in numbers during the summer for this NOT to be as big a factor as last. Should not be carted out as an excuse this season. We must be looking at different stats.
We have lost the second highest number of minutes through injury behind Arsenal in the Premier League in the current season.

Veltman, Kadioglu or Lamptey would be right back. Webster or Igor would be ahead of Dunk. Rutter would be playing. Mitoma/March would be starting. Steele is very possible to have played ahead of out of form Verbruggen. Kadioglu or Igor are very likely to have rotated with a tired Estupinan for minutes. Milner definitely would’ve had minutes in central midfield, where he started the season.
Throughout the season we’ve had injuries to almost all of our starters.
Yep. My worry is that FH’s most successful tactical spell was based around intensity, high pressing, counter pressing, physicality, winning duels and direct, long ball football. He has not found solutions when that doesn’t work.Agreed. But that has to be on Fab to work out. It simply has to. And as I’ve said before, that huge spend has clouded a lot of minds about what exactly we were buying. We weren’t buying immediate success like Chelsea wished to when spending £170m on Caicedo and Cucurella. And as I've said before. We had the same last season when playing on 4 fronts. It's a lot easier and less disruptive to change the manager to fit a squad of players than changing a squad of players to fit a particular manager.Fab and the recruitment team will need to have very stern talks this summer if he is still here.
They simply MUST get the players in he wants.
I'm pretty optimistic about Weiffer, Gomez, O'Riley and Kadioglu. Think they will be great. Rutter has already proved his worth. And as I’ve said before, that huge spend has clouded a lot of minds about what exactly we were buying. We bought a bunch of guys aged 18-24 with potential. Potential to develop by playing top level football. Which they’re doing. Some won’t make it, others will. This is the business model.
Why would Fab get the players he wants and DeZerbi didn’t?Fab and the recruitment team will need to have very stern talks this summer if he is still here.
They simply MUST get the players in he wants. Because right now the current batch don’t really seem to understand what he’s doing and don’t seem to respond to him- the first ten of both halves today were utterly embarrassing and it’s almost like the players have to forget his instructions and try and work it out for himself.
Questions do need to be asked about Weir et al.
Garth CrooksFor the first time, I am fence.
But lets face it, fun though these threads are, there's only one person's view that matters, and I would trust it more than any thread/poll on NSC![]()
The problem now in defense is lack of alternative options.Out for me but probably for the same reason you're fence. Our defence is completely incapable of playing the high line - they just don't have the speed. Why Fab keeps picking Dunk is beyond me - especially after his farcical performance against Leicester. The team don't appear to have the mental capacity to shut down a game we're leading in and the tactics seem all over the place - both those issues are down to the manager. Keep him until the end of this season as we're safe already but then time to get get rid.
Would be the highest paid employee of the club behind the CEO. Was on a four year deal worth £50m including performance bonuses (£8.3m base).Ancelotti is on a flight to Gatwick tomorrow.
