Out. Not because of our league position, because of our performances across the whole season. How many times have we actually played well? Away at Liverpool, which we lost anyway. Some decent spells in the wins agains United, City and Spurs, and we were gritty at Newcastle. That's about it. Beyond the odd 15-20 minute spells, our performances have been lacking all season.

Home performances have been f***ing godawful in the main. Games at the Amex are becoming a chore to attend. There does seem to be a correlation between people that don't think things are that bad and people that don't attend games.
Circumstances preclude me from attending, but I haven't missed watching a single match since we were promoted. Not 'being there' in no way influences how I see things at all, and I truly don't feel that we are under-performing, more than we are about where we should be, at this given point.
A few more wins and we're in Europe: A few more losses and we're in the bottom half.
This 'Fab out' is bollocks. Give the guy at least another season (and far fewer injuries) and see where we are then.

IN because it’s too early to be otherwise given we’re top half.

This time next season is when judgment will come if we haven’t progressed.

All IMO, obviously.

It’s not the bad run of results it’s the way we concede over and over again. Strikers missing sitters is 100% not down to FH, how we defend definitely is imo
Seriously we don't have the staff. We have a plucky championship back four.
You can't attack like we do with a defense like ours.
I must confess I didn't see it at the start of the season. It is now quite clear.
With pace and power at the back it is a different story.
What did Pep do when he became manager at Citeh? Cleared out the entire back 5 (including a decent keeper who was no sweeper).

I dont agree.

Any number of players "could play in there" but none are natural central defenders or the read the game as one.

Baleba is our best CDM, and with him in defence we are weaker in MF. Wieffer would be easily muscled off the ball by a striker with physical presence. Its also a different task away at Brentford to a team at home who hadnt scored in over 800 hours.

Dunks legs and pace is an issue, the better answer imho is to play a defensive line/system that accomodates the lack of pace in defence, not shoehorn in midfielders out of position.

and none of it made any difference with the shocking 4th goal. They didnt look like zonal, they certainly werent man to man. What the hell is going on at Set pieces? Who is responsible for the set ups?
Brentford hadn’t won at home since before Christmas and Baleba was our best player playing CB last week. So you could do it. Re Wieffer- a DM playing in a position moving back to CB is exactly the fabled tactic we were told Fab favoured.
We were playing Brentford who have pretty much the three fastest forwards in the league. Playing a high line AND Dunk was ludicrous.

I’m on the fence for now.

i do see some hope but FH has to learn his lessons quickly. I thought he had post Forest thrashing when we dropped off and played solid first, flair second but the last 4 games we have gone back to the old ways.
If TB is to stick with the young fella, he is going to have to spend again on 3 or 4 pacy, strong defenders. We simply cannot play that high with defenders that slow
Do we even play that high? I’m not sure what we are. We no longer press in a coordinated fashion with any conviction. A lot of the time, we seem to be sitting back to hit on the counter - which as you say was very successful for 6 games - but then attack at a snail’s pace.

If he's on here crying and whining about it, then yes but I suspect he'll be making it far more rationally in the boardroom
Yeh I think it’s a bit out of order having a go at fans venting their feelings after what we just saw today

If we were fighting relegation then yes I would agree get rid - but we aren’t
If the fall off in form wasn’t so repetitive I’d agree. We looked a very very poor side devoid of confidence and direction and have looked poorer than two poor teams over 90 mins two weeks on the bounce. It is reasonable to lose faith in the manager under the circumstances imo. We are nearly through the season and I’m not sure we have dominated more than a couple of games all season?

Still waiting for the "response" from losing to:
Forest
Villa
Palace
Brentford.

Not blaming the boss.
But the players aren't giving him what he needs to keep his job.

There have been people on here that have been crying and moaning almost all season, starting Fab out threads since, what, December? I have no issues with people venting their feelings, but there has been a constant agenda against Hurzeler for some for months.

  • Injuries aren't an excuse, they say. Of course they are.
  • The awful finishing is his fault, they say. To a degree, yes, but these are top level professionals, Minteh should be able to use his other foot.
  • The senior pros were behind the good runs, they say. Cool, where are they now?
  • His tactics don't work, they say. Sometimes no, but also sometimes yes. They work when we're not ravaged by injuries.
He has made mistakes, yes, but this was always a season of transition and in that context, I'm fine with it.

The most worrying thing for me today was the two occasions when FH acted as ball boy to get the ball to our players to take a quick throw. He looked utterly desperate to give the players the rocket they need.

To me, it suggests a real disconnect with what he is trying to do and what the players are doing.

Intrigued if you can describe his tactics today. First ten minutes especially.

I missed the first 10 sadly, I was out so I suspect it was similar to usual, trying to break down a team with a resolute defensive shape but with a defence that was too slow to deal with Brentford's hugely pacy attack.

Honestly you should take a look at the messageboards of other clubs, NSC is just about the tamest I see these days regarding negative sentiment

In, on the basis that he was doing fairly well points-wise well up until the Forest game and we were 3 points from the CL positions.

Judge the manager over a period when we haven’t been absolutely f***ed by injuries (and now a suspension to Pedro).

Exactly, and look how we’ve ended up !
I genuinely believe if we’d got McKenna in, we wouldn’t be having debates like this.
Already relegated?
No will to live or post on NSC left?
Come on!
McKenna isn't that bad.
