Maybe I'm too cynical, but I'm not buying the story of its creation at all. The whole thing is just a marketing exercise by the Emirate of Dubai imo. A very clever and successful one, tbf.

I bought some of this from an offie on the way from the pub a little while ago. Four cans of beer and a choclate bar came to something like £13 and I was sure I'd been overcharged.
Turns out I'd just bought some stupidly expensive chocolate in a drunken haze.

It is quite tasty, it was everywhere at the Xmas market I went to in Germany last year. And, just as pistachio ice cream is the absolute king of ice cream flavours, it’s not unpleasant. But the hype is very silly of course.

What does it taste like, any good? Don't think I've run into any here in Stockholm. Chocolate from Dubai sounds like swimwear from Siberia.
It’s sweet and pistachio-y
I was in Dubai last week and got some at the duty free. My daughter was incredibly pleased but I’ve no idea why people pay over the odds for it. It’s pleasant, a bit too sweet but I love pistachios. No, we haven’t sold it on eBay. It is Easter after all…..
