As Paul Merton revealed on HIGNFY last week, JD stands for Jumbo Dickhead.

I really am troubled by the notion that JD Vance is one of the last major figures, if not the last, on the world stage with whom the Pope met.
Likewise. To be honest I was shocked that JDV had the nerve to get a visit arranged, knowing full well that the Pope could do without a major dickhead visiting him when clearly extremely unwell.
Typical of the current American ideology of “me first, **** everybody else.”

Exactly..I expect poor old Pope Francis spent about 30 seconds with the fat faced fascist before realising what he’s all about..apparently a recent ish convert to Catholicism, so no doubt he’s already the most bestest catholic ever and no one is more catholicky than him. Hopefully PF got the chance to thank him profusely.

You have every right to criticise Islam or Christianity within the boundaries of the law of course. So being part of the community doesn’t matter. All religions should be defended or criticised by the left you have the right to do that.
Indeed.

So I was curious why anyone would suddenly criticize 'the left' for failing to be sufficiently critical of Islam.
On this thread.

Er not cremated. Buried after being put on show. Before er being put on show again.

The papal embalmer has a tough job. One amateur was so bad the pope's nose fell off and the body went green (pope pius xii).

Pope Paul vi died in the heat of high summer and apparently stunk st Peters out after being returned from castel gandalfo (the papal summer palace).

Even Pope JP2 started going black and needed touching up each night with make up.

Pope john xxiii however was put on show having been buried for 40 years and apparently looked good (well as good as he could in the circumstances)

Pope JP1 was embalmed so quickly that they couldn't tell if he had been poisoned by digitalis for threatening to tell the world about archbishop marcincus and his Vatican bank scandals
They sound like a rum lot, these Catholics.
Are all religions like this?

So... we were already planning to go to Rome on Wednesday. We had Vatican tours all booked too.

Got a feeling that's going to be challenging now. ..

Most, yes, to a greater or lesser extent
I wonder if its because 'belief' requires the abandonment of reason and basic common sense?
When I was a kid I realized that something was amiss when I kept on praying and nothing happened.

Donald Trump managed to strike exactly the right tone earlier today when he took a moment to pay a dignified and sombre tribute to the late Pope Francis, accompanied by the First Lady and the Easter Bunny.

FFS

(I know @Tom Hark Preston Park will particularly appreciate this solemn gesture).

Normally when we were 1-0 down in the last 10 minutes.

However there was one time, I give you Eric Potts.

Not keen on any religions, but this Catholic leader seemed a better person than the Islamic lot... (considerately better. Albeit that isn't hard) .

I agree.
Fortunately we are not under any obligation to pick a side.

I heard this guy, who was close to the Pope, is looking for a visit in Istanbul. How far away can that be?
