I'll have to revisit them, haven't really heard too much of them for a while but, and probably in this order: Exile on Main Street (Sweet Virginia being the greatest track; big up for Gram Parsons); Beggars Banquet; Let It Bleed.

Symphony gives the album a chance and wow it’s possibly the greatest rock track ever but probwnlook elsewhere for their best

It's not my favourite, but I still have a very soft spot for their first album, which was the first album i ever owned as an 11 year old as a Christmas Present from my brother in 1964.

All down to personal taste, as is all music, but aside from Paint It Balck it's all a bit 'meh'.

So many indisputable stone cold classic albums....but the best is surely Beggars Banquet?

The Master and Margarita, by Mikhail Bulgakov is well worth a read to get behind Jagger's inspiration for Sympathy For the Devil (if you hadn't already done so).

Loved the book, never made the connection myself I might add...

BBC4 just started … their entire 1978 ‘Some Girls Live’ gig in Fort Worth.

When you say "gig" in a city with a university (Texas Christian) with the mascot Horned Frogs it takes on a whole other meaning. Especially in Texas.

Any excuse to post what has become my favourite Stones song, allegedly mostly written by Mick Taylor, although he got no credit for it. The guitar playing is just sublime as it builds from about 3 mins 30 secs

Special mention to Nicky Hopkins piano playing towards the end

Sadly I don’t think they ever played it live as it was recorded just before Mick Taylor left the band
