Burgess Hill
Burgess Hill were absolutely shocking at home to Phoenix Sports yesterday. 0-1 down with the final whistle approaching, a bitter wind playing havoc with my post chemo session body temp and the thought of settling down on the sofa to watch the guaranteed thrill-fest at The Amex had me on the way to the car just as the Hill scored not once but twice in stoppage time to secure the points. Still, at the least our game was a good watch...........

Hassocks are champions! Wasn't hopeful yesterday with the run Crowborough had been on but after surviving a strong Crows start for 30 minutes, once Hassocks were in front there was only one winner. A very sweet moment as well for the opener after the Crowborough player that called me a c**t last season misplaced a back header for Al Fair to get onto and get us underway. An absolutely incredible achievement on no budget and local players playing because they wanted to play for the club.

I stayed for about 10 minutes after the game then got a lift to The Amex and only missed the first 10 minutes. At about the point where all the players were standing behind the referee, waving their arms about while he watched the game on a TV, I realised that I'd made a very good decision to not renew and invest my time and money next season in Hassocks. Up the Robins!

Wish I'd done the same. We left at half time so I'm now kicking myself for missing out on the second half and celebrations in order to watch the dross served up at the Amex. Fantastic achievement from Hassocks with 5 games left still and there's also the Peter Bentley Cup final to look forward to.

What league are they promoted to and do they have all the required facilities etc? Fantastic achievement for all involved.

Shouldn't need too much, it's one of the better equipped grounds in the SCFL. Both ends are uncovered so maybe a small structure at one end and possibly an extra turnstile as the FA seem quite obsessed in grounds having plenty!

Isthmian South East , replacing Steyning in all likelihood assuming facilities are up to scratch .
And Lancing. Littlehampton still in a bit of danger which if they were to get relegated would see the SCFL having to shift another club to accommodate the three coming down, Petersfield or Crowborough (if they don't go up) are the usual victims then.

Barring a serious turnaround from Hendon, a 3-0 win over Bognor yesterday for Whitehawk should see them safe for another season in the Isthmian Premier League. Quite remarkable considering we were bottom when Shaun Saunders returned in November. All but confirmed relegation for Bognor as well, a shame as I do enjoy trips to Bognor, but nothing has gone right for them this year really, some good news though with a 3G pitch being installed.

Littlehampton have picked up 7 points from 9. If it weren't for Phoenix Sports hitting a similarly rich vein of form then LA would be pretty safe by now. Bit of a mixed bag in terms of the remaining fixtures, but hopefully they'll have just about enough. Might even drag Herne Bay into the scrap at this rate.

I understand why they want it but Bognor getting a 3G pitch is far from good news. Not a fan of plastic pitches at all and Bognors surface was the best in the county.

I randomly ended up at a Herne Bay game earlier in the season and if they’re in trouble at the wrong end then it’s fair to say Hassocks are facing a fair sized challenge next season.

I’m really hoping that Faal not starting has been due to fasting for Ramadan (something @Vatican Citys No.2 Keeper might know?). Temi is a cult hero and a solid option at this level, but unless Mo is fasting then I can’t understand why he’s not starting over Temi. For all his huff & puff, Mo managed more in about 90 seconds than Babeola did in an hour.

Afraid I know about as much as anyone else. We speculated the same re why Faal hasn't been starting, but some fans have asked him about it and the fasting doesn't seem to have been given as a reason as to why Aggy has gone with Temi more in recent weeks. There certainly have been games where the Temi-Nash duo up top has worked, but the former has been off the boil for the last three games and as you say, the movement Faal showed on Saturday and what he did within a few minutes of coming on was better than what we'd seen from Temi all game.

Three points absolutely deserved, though we should really have been clear by half-time with all the missed chances. Nice to have more of a points cushion again, albeit our goal difference means we're still looking over our shoulder. Hopefully Mo is back in the starting line-up for what is probably the biggest games of the season so far with Truro next weekend.

My arsehole went with that corner that hit the inside of the post. F*ck me :lolol:

With Eastbourne losing, if Worthing can win all their home games and draw their away games then the only team that can catch them is a flawless Torquay. No easy feet obviously, but every team in the league would trade places.

Take the points and move on. Next week is massive. A Truro win, along with wins for Torquay & Dorking would leave all 4 teams on 80 points. It’s doing my poor old ticker no good at all.
Worthing have a horrible run in but luckily most of them are at home. I suspect Dorking will be the ones going up automatically looking at their run in but you never know in that league.

Lancing only has cover on one side, so I’d hope Hassocks won’t need to do too much if anything

Agreed. Steyning (albeit split across 2 stands), East Grinstead and Littlehampton (albeit split across THREE stands) all also only have cover on one side

Whitehawk were in National League South for a season or two and definitely only have cover on 3 sides.
