This season I have been using the Race Hill Park and Ride , and very good it is. However, for the last two matches (Forest & Villa) the large car park at the West overlooking Whitehawk is closed due to "it being in the racing season" - according to a steward. Apparently they don't want people walking across the track (put down boards then ! ) It is a bit pointless having a Park and Ride if you can't park.

This now leads to a massive drive around the surrounding streets looking for a free parking spot if the small front car park is full, Seeing that Mon - Friday permit restrictions apply until 7 pm then Mid week games are now stress loaded. Why can't they re-open the EDF P&R if they have lost the use of the major car park at the Race Hill ? Millions spent on a bar with TV's but nothing to help supporters get to the ground .

Maybe the club should have

Could be that all Albion 'travel partners' and 'stakeholders' need to sit around a table and work out what is a safe midweek capacity for the Amex, given the clearly inadequate transport infrastructure for midweek games. That might focus a few minds
Whenever people say “well there’s obviously nothing the club can do about transport”, I personally have a very strong impression that very little of this stuff is actually that big a priority for them. And I wonder exactly what it might take before the fact that fans keep having a miserable time getting to and from a stadium that WE campaigned for gets noticed and some attempt gets made to discuss this with all parties involved and maybe to start having regular discussions as to why things don’t improve.
Outside of the bubble that is the game itself, I'd suggest that the Amex Matchday Experience for midweek games for most fans is pretty stressful and not hugely pleasant
And/or more expensive if you add another £18 to the overall spend for parking, itself not always a stress-free experience

Has the hybrid working patterns since the pandemic really had no effect?
I got a morning train to London this week, first time for some years. It was rammed by the time it had left HH. I'm sure there are more people WFH these days, but I think there are not as many as the right wing press would have us believe.

If only the railways could be renationalized then it may be possible for a PUBLIC SERVICE to operate again, taking into account NEED, rather than grub for coin as a foreign-owned shit-show of a business.

Oh....hang on....

Ours on the north Kent misery line are also rammed by the time they have left Sittingbourne.
Rammed with fewer people because the service has been cut, to maximise profit.
Fancy that. Who knew? ???

I realise it depends where you live but Wednesday was okay for us, we left the NS after the final whistle went and arrived home in Bexhill (train to Lewes, then car) at 11 o'clock. Best we have done for ages though as it can be 1130-1145 depending on trains and roadworks.

I would imagine Millwalls shuttle it far easier when you have massive stations like London Bridge nearby, access to rolling stock and less signalling and platform length restrictions like we do at Lewes.
But surely in many ways a complicated hub like London Bridge would be more tricky?
Exactly this. People can start all the threads and posts they want about "that's it! I am NEVER going to a midweek game again!!!" but there is the square root of F All that the club can do about the trains, except for have a word regarding the stewarding which was, once again, poor on both sides of the tracks. Paul Barber just isn't going to be able to wave a magic wand and get Southern a shitload more rolling stock.

Things that could help will generally only help at weekends. Travel is MUCH better when EDF and Pyecombe are added to the P&R but they are not always available, especially mid week. As @Terry Butcher Tribute Act alludes to The Terrace isn't going to be much help when people have last trains or buses to make connections to. It will definitely help for weekend games but then the rolling stock is there for the trains.

If you're really fed up then feel free to stop going. Ironically you'll make it better for those who can be bothered to support the team.
I don't agree that there is F all that the club can do about it. As mentioned, Millwall have worked out a very efficient service with the rail operator to solve a problem of potential trouble among loitering fans.

This is completely my experience, and it was amazing how the 7.30pm kick off for Bournemouth made it so much worse than even 7.45 can be - not just for me, there were thousands of us still arriving on public transport after the game had started I think not least because the compressed time between most of us finishing work and kick off time means the system has even greater problems than usual coping - I got to the bus stop in Lewes at 6.45pm and the first 3 buses to go past were "too full" to let anyone else on.

Southern provide 6 trains an hour, which is the full capacity of the line. Extra trains run on all matchdays (2tph from Brighton to Lewes), the issue is midweek the carriage length, that is down to procurement of rolling stock, which falls under the responsibility of the Department of Transport.
And the cancelled trains?

The attendance for Millwall's last mid week game was 12,380. It's a little different.

Yes thanks Genius boy, as I said, "I know it's been moaned about a thousand times before" but it is a serious issue nothing has been done

Sorry for mentioning again something that has a major impact on thousands of Albion fans and obviously the club with all the empty seats at evening games. Perhaps I should follow your example and post on important topics like

…..meanwhile a few on here are obsessed with increasing the stadium’s capacity 🤣🤣
They are taking the Michael, we can't even nowhere near fill the stadium for a high profile game.Wait till we eventually get relegated all the glory bods will be gone aswell.

I lived in Worthing and found it quicker to just drive to Lewes for mid-week games, park there and get the train. It's quicker to get a train from the other platform at Falmer. I would be driving past The Amex on the A27 before I would even be on the platform at Falmer going back to Brighton.

Hasa anyone blamed CASHIN yet? Pretty sure it wouldn't have happened if he wasn't on the pitch.

Are there any clubs of our sort of size who do it well?
Not sure, but it must be a little bit easier for clubs with stadiums that aren't mad miles away from the main town/city. However, I still maintain that it's a ballache getting tens of thousands of people out of a venue at the same time, regardless of where it is situated.
