Failed a fitness test for todays game…so popped up to Pulborough Brooks for quite a pleasant afternoon (well apart from hearing about that football stuff)….that last photo just shows how dry it’s been….normally it’s like a mini lake

If you're referring to the tree on the inner road in that little triangle, that's an Acer griseum, which too has interesting bark. That's probably my favourite tree in Brighton. There is however, a Strawberry tree over the road in Jevs' Rock Garden, if that's the one you mean?
