The only chance March created today was for West Ham when he passed it straight to them shortly before he was subbed
I thought he was decent considering how long he’s been out, but he didn’t exactly set the world alight. He just did a lot of basics well, except the one horror pass that nearly put them through on goal.

The dying seconds winner, Baleba with a "Worldie" and to cap it all off these bad boys now on sale in Sainsbury's...

FH's subs are very questionable as well - why take March off when he was one of the players actually looking keen and creating chances.
Were you watching the same game as 30 000 others?
Solly was blowing out of his arse when he was substituted. He did brilliantly to run non-stop for an hour.
FH's substitutions have been one of his strengths in a season full of injuries.

Why do so many people hate Potter? Yes we had two very frustrating seasons during Covid under him, but he got us a top half finish in his last full season and then as he left he had laid the foundations for De Zerbi to take us to new heights. Was a comedy disaster at Chelsea and looking like the sequel at West Ham. Not like he left the club in a bad state and talked badly about us.
It’s because he was given so much slack to improve the team over two seasons and we watched a lot of insipid football before things started to improve and then he left one month into a new season saying things like “ if he wanted an easy life he would have stayed at Brighton“. Had he left with a bit more respect then he would have earned more respect on days like today. But he didn’t.

Not sure where to start with all that. Normally a thunderbastard to win it in injury time would trump anything else that happened in the game, especially against Potter but there was much else to admire and a lot to despair about if we’re honest.

We were the better side in the first half and deserved to go in to the sheds in front. Weiffer was excellent at right back allowing Jack to have a good game in midfield. The goal was a cracker. And you’re expecting us to just go on and win it professionally.

But no. Before most people are back in the seats we’ve conceded a goal Fishersgate Flyers Under 9s would be ashamed of and all of a sudden we’re up against it. Again some suicidal passing in our own half. Again our left back spends most of the game in the wrong half on his arse. Again we f**k up a five on three. Again we concede a late goal.

But back in the credit column we make some good subs, score an excellent equaliser, and then. And then.

Thank you Carlos. That worldie of a winner will live with me forever. Now I just need to know how wide that roll of paper you’re covering the cracks with is.

We scored two brilliant goals from outside the box. 9 out of 10 times neither of those go in, so it relatively safe to let a player shoot from long range so you can pack the box more.
No closing down at all, the TV highlights refer to it, and Potter even referred to it post-match. Awful……..and for our second, Diego is unchallenged as he chips a ball to a completely free Gruda in the box who nods it to an unmarked Mitoma.

Thank goodness we didn't write the game off pre-game because "never mind drawing, we're going to lose with this bunch of duds", eh?! 😉
