It's not a 'contractual obligation' though is it - it's something Sky have paid for and the basis of the PL's massive revenue. Sky have no rights to broadcast any more games unless the PL let them (ie sell that right to them) - hence most of the PPV revenue going to the clubs, not...

Who is dismissing what ? The majority of the revenue is going to the clubs (shared equally, not game by game), not Sky/BT/Amazon. Anything the broadcasters get is a drop in the ocean compared to their subscription revenue.

The PPV games will be ones that weren’t otherwise going to be televised though....so not quite that clear-cut

That’s pretty insignificant though compared to their plan subscriber base which is their overwhelming main source of revenue (c8 million customers).

Absolutely - most of us have done it at some point though (and far more likely to happen if stressed). Write the reply, don't press send, read it an hour later or the following day......................he seems to like the rapid response though, which possibly contributed........

He explained earlier (and is doing so again now) - was a simple take it or leave it and the revenue plugs a small part of a huge hole ('Hobson's choice'). At least we get to see some football if we want.

Cumulative annoyance...........a large of what he says and does is reasonable, so maybe give him a bit of rope for a snippy reply to email no 45 he'd received that day ? Would love to be a fly on the wall at the EPL meetings - can imagine him kicking right off based on the thinly-veiled anger...
