And just to really f*** u up, amongst many across the city there are roadworks on the Patcham Bypass A23, when these companies apply to dig the roads up why don’t the council tell em to do one until the clusterfuck up the road is completed? I hate Trevor Muten with a real passion

I have just driven this stretch Westbound and noted the congestion as of 1400hs today started on the Eastbound carriageway adjacent to Waterhall just past the Devils Dyke junction on ramp,?id imagine tomorrow at say 5pm it will start further west even to West Hove GC 😮

If it were Me i’d probably stay on the A270

For the record these cnunty clown works at the present are not affecting A27 West Bound traffic.

For anyone in Mid Sussex thinking of cutting out the A23 to Hollingbury stretch of the A27 by nipping over Ditchling Beacon to Coldean Lane: the entire road is closed from Ditchling High Street this week.

Just checked Onenetwork.com and the roadworks are for drainage works with the lane closures along different parts running until the 28th June both sides to allow for any possible over runs. One good thing is that they supposedly doing the rubbish clearance along the 27 at the same time. Not sure even the P&R will be much cop tomorrow as they will all get caught up in the mess

And for those who fancy a detour to Lewes via Cooksbride turning right at HMP there are clown works there too at the junction

Are they hoping the traffic cones will come to life and fix the drainage issue without the need for any human or machine to be involved? It seems at the moment that is the strategy.

I've already had a middle aged white guy whine above so I'll keep this short - I find it incredible that Highways South East are persisting with this and I've seen zero pushback from any local members or MPs. By just leaving the cones out all day with no one working is just a massive FY to everyone who has to use that road. The Country can forget about any grand ideas around 'economic growth' etc when you have agencies who can get away with this absolute nonsense. It's at best pathetic, at worst an absolute barrier to getting stuff done.

What a nause

could someone clarify for me what the situation is post game? We will be heading from the Uni car park back to London - is it a full closure or just 1 lane?

It's eastbound only so heading back to the A23 is absolutely fine.

Might do park and walk from Mill Lane tonight. Sounds like it’s going to be terrible. Just need m25 to close now. Oh well, happened many many times before. Such is life as an exile.
