Took about 40 mins on Mill Road P&R to get there so not bad at all. By the time we had watched the highlights there were no queues anywhere when we left.

Although, if they are going to take 8 weeks, I guess it's the same for the rest of the season

I think this is worth knowing about - as last night the roadworks had been paused for the football.
When they are further into the works, this won’t be so possible. Making a Saturday afternoon on a warm sunny day, when other road users are trying to move around too, a slightly different story.

Plane gets into Gatwick North Terminal at 6.05pm. No checked luggage, parked in long stay. Parking at Sussex Uni for the game. What are my chances of getting to my seat before half time?
Plane landed bang on time. Straight through passport control, onto the bus for the car park, and was driving out of Gatwick by 6.30pm. Couldn't have gone any smoother.

Some slow traffic coming off the A23 and all the way through the A27 works but I was parked by 7.20pm, and in my seat with a pie and drink in my hands by 7.35pm.

Might not be so easy on other matchdays but I was pleasantly surprised to be at the ground in time for kick-off.

What was paused last night was work to close one lane Westbound. This will be finished by this weekend.

Once those works are done it will be one lane each way until end of June.

I left home at 1800 from Rustington travelling by motorcycle. Still took me twice as long as normal to get to the ground. Got there 1900. Could have been quicker but the amount of drivers who just won't let me filter is annoying. It is perfectly legal to filter in this country, I'm not slowing down your journey in any way what so ever. Just move over to the left a tad and let me through PLEASE! To those who are aware and let me through, thank you, I always give a raised hand to say thank you....

I’ve never rode any kind of motorbike, so have no affinity, but I’ve always let motorbikes in or made extra room for them. Daft to competitively/jealously, not help.

We were parking on coldean lane. I called an audible when we approached the devils dyke exit and decided we'd rather be in moving traffic than stood still. Came off and did valley road/carden avenue. Was probably only marginally quicker but we were at least moving for most of it despite a couple of bottlenecks

Agreed. I too have never driven one, but see it as one less car on the road!

Does anyone know why they have coned off this part of the A27 for the best part of a week but as far as I can see no work is taking place? It must be costing businesses around Brighton and Hove a fortune in lost productivity so I am presuming there is some logic to it and it's not just massive incompetence!

If it’s drainage work (which it is) then most of that will be happening below the ground level - so you won’t see it necessarily.
Most work will happen overnight, but the restrictions will stay in place day and night for safety reasons.

They will be taking out the central barrier to do the drainage works, so are closing off the outside lane on both carriageways to ensure the safety of workers

If you were thinking of driving anywhere in Brighton and Hove today forget it. Absolute mayhem on the roads. A27 works, police closed Mill Road, loads of roads closed due to marathon (including London Rd from Westdene). Took me 45 minutes to drive from Patcham(ish) to Hove Park.

Hmmmm - feels sub optimal for between now and June. Still, saves someone a few quid somewhere doing it like this eh?

Also big delays on the A259 in Newhaven this week, temporary traffic lights on Brighton Road between the Kwik Fit garage and one way system.

And it’s started!!! Both carriageways lane closed between Patcham and Hollingbury, queues starting westbound at The Amex

With the knock on effect of the off ramp being totally jammed too as people try to come off and go up Coldean Lane to avoid it.

How has this been during the week does anyone know? I know it won't be representative of Saturday of course. Just heading over from Hampshire as usual, and there isn't an obvious alternate route in my eyes.
