We will finish in one of the highest positions in the club's entire history, European qualification is still within reach, we have a young dynamic squad of players with more en route in the summer.

And all this with a young manager, still learning both his trade and the League and a squad decimated with injuries for most of the season.

Been a rough week on this front. I've voted 4 and before the Forest game it was probably an 8 - feels like the positive energy and momentum we had has fallen away.

Next game is important now - need a reaction Vs Leicester otherwise the season will be in danger of petering out.

Some defensive signings definitely needed in the summer.

I went for 9. For me the key to all of this is your last paragraph, a young manager learning his trade. Yes he makes mistakes, but he recognizes this and learns from them. I think the future is bright.

If he’s crap he’ll be sacked. If any good he’ll be poached. I don’t know why equivalent clubs seem to be able to keep players and managers but we can’t. Obviously the Constant upheaval is unhelpful and probably why we don’t seem ever to quite get over the line, always on the cusp but never quite over. Losing today just amplifies that and it’s bloody depressing. I just want us to win something. Most of us on here are literally running out of life which is why I’ve no time for all this projects bollocks. As if football can be so planned. Nope, Football throws up loads of exceptions where teams come from nowhere and do bloody well, winning something and or finishing higher than we’ve ever managed in our history. But they’ve got to be grabbed in the moment and taken. Come the summer we’ll lose a load more of our team, on and off, with replacements coming in that might equally under perform. Or not. Who knows. But tonight after a pivotal week this season is over realistically and we’ve fallen short. Again.

I’ve popped you down as a “9”

So, just so I understand, you deem finishing sixth in the Premier League, qualifying for the Europa League, winning our group to progress to the last 16 as "not getting over the line"?

Tough crowd if so.

I don't base my enjoyment of the Albion on how Crystal Palace are doing. I think that's taking this pantomime rivalry a bit far.

I'm a 10. Always a 10. It's because it's the Albion and they've been a part of my life. Some of the best times I had were when they weren't very good. That's because it never really depended on those. That's not the way I want my emotions to roll. They're part of my life and they always will be. And I've met a lot of great folk along the way and probably have more to meet.

Always a ten. Lost to Palace, still a ten. No Balti pies next time I'm at the AMEX ? Okay, may need to reconsider. If we qualify for Europe, then it's an 11.

The usual two track vote for me.

The club’s overall trajectory, owner, where we stand in our history, a 9.

Hopes and dreams for this season, a 5. Not bothered about the FAC result, ManC would’ve brushed us aside at Wembley. But Webster/Rutter in those moments a week ago, I knew straight away that‘d hurt us fatally in the bread n butter of the PL. So much so that I started making money on it.

In the context of actually winning something, yes.
A small provincial club playing in Europe for the first time in the club's history?

Again: tough crowd.

The FA Cup this season was arguably the best chance we've ever had to win something, but it was still far from a gimme. We'd already beaten two clubs challenging for Champions League qualification and ultimately succumbed to a third on penalties.

It's disappointing, particularly given the two results we've had since, but we're massively odds against at winning all competitions we enter - the same as every other club our size. Crystal Palace's trophy cabinet will be as equally unimpressive as our own.

Anyone happy tonight isn’t a true Brighton fan. It can’t mean that much so I’ll put you down as a plastic, likely not hungry for success because you supported Chelsea or the like. This week was pivotal and we literally scored nil point. And for extra humiliation we lost to our rivals who were down to 9 men, and did the double over us for the first time in 100 years so yep, I’m not happy.

Newmarket.
For the past goodness knows how many seasons, BHA at the steady sensible hand of TB has followed the algorithms and bought young inexperienced prospects to turn into profit a few seasons down the line. And well done and thank you to TB for doing so. I'm genuinely appreciative and happy for the sustainability as I expect most fans are.

But please TB with my tongue tentatively teasing the inside of my cheek, can't you just forego this for one season and instead buy us some winners who'll at least put some form of top tier silverwear on the top shelf of our "trophy" cabinet.
You'd only have to do it once and we'd all be even more grateful I'm sure.
From Algernon 59 and a half.

Go and do something you enjoy with people who make you happy. It is far better than arguing to toss with me over the definition of a project and whether I am a true fan because I am not considering my own mortality because the best iteration of my football team I have ever seen has just had a shit week.

Been supporting us since 1979 and hence a firm 9 from me. Perspective. This is the best of times. I reserve 10 for if we are challenging for the PL title. Okay, the last week has been disappointing but it’s all better than nearly losing the club we love and going out of the league.
