Close to being MOM in the world cup final.

Undeniably one of the players of the tournament.

Was an Albion player at the time.

I used to hope than Denny Mundee was going to have a good game against Carlisle.
And do his special trick*

One trick I remember he had was being able to make it from the pitch to the dressing room to the bar with a pint and a fag on the go quicker than myself who was in the stands.

I can’t remember which away game it was, but I had hospitality and after clapping the players off the pitch I made my way to the bar only to see Munday already there, showered (although his shirt with wet patches all over it and his head had beads of sweat on it) with a pint and a cigarette. That’s some going.

BUT - won the World Cup when playing for Brighton & Hove Albion.
That's almost enough for legendary status here.

The fact that he scored some great goals, is an incredibly nice chap and left in the right way gets him over the line.

I very much hope he'll be back here in his 30's doing the sort of stuff Groß did for us in his 30's.

I’m not as annoyed by Liverpool fans as some on here but one of the exceptions is when they harp on about their 35 million bargain basement deal. It would be lovely to know how close we got to the 55 million that was also regularly mentioned at the time of the transfer and if today’s events has sealed that. A few of you with sources at the club must be able to get an inkling pretty please
To be fair, £55m would still qualify as bargain basement in this case.

I have no problem with Liverpool. And was happy that Ali Mac went there (also appreciated them pushing the price of caicedo into the stratosphere). Proper club, run well (now) and even the southern plastic fans are generally less annoying than other clubs ('Brighton Kop' excepted). But I did have to turn of the radio yesterday ahead of the 'big game' as the media wankfest ramped up and Scouser after scouser was interviewed talking about how 'special' they are and how they are different from other clubs and fans and just care more etc etc...

What he did for for Argentina while he was here makes him a club legend already in my eyes. I am so pleased for the little guy who is such a wonderful player and seems like a really nice bloke. Hopefully he will win in Europe next year and the World Club championship after that. (Anything to increase the money Liverpool may still have to shell out for him!)

Aside from the finances involved, he's becoming a bit of a football legend.

World Cup winner. Now Premier League winner, with a goal in the title winning match.

Unlike a majority of those departing, he left the club on good terms and we would all love him back here one day.

Knowing that he could be earning the club more money just adds further merit to his time at the club, not that it needs it.
He’s an absolute diamond
