One thing to remember is at some point you may need technical support. I avoid products with premium phone lines or where you wait in queues for hours.

I've got a Buffalo air staion G54.

Never had any trouble with it.

Got it from PC world (only got it from there as my daughter was hassling me so much to get her online that I broke and went in there, normally i wouldn't piss on the place if it was on fire.)

Why dont you just ring Belkin on their free technical helpline. They offer just about the best support in the business.

Right did that again.. same response of a barely legible foreign voice who couldn't help and will only offer a replacement router.. what number are you calling to get such good advice/service?

Netgear. My advice is based on a team of people checking them out to see which was best for a rollout we did.

Funnily enough I am looking at this at the moment - i have previously recommended Netgear - and have used the DG834GT at home (and in the office) and it has been fine - but you should read the criticism on the Netgear forums.

Ours stopped working two days ago - so am looking around - and I like the look of Linksys which is made by Cisco (I believe).

I will try the latest release of the netgear firmware first though.

Linksys WRT54G is the dogs bollox, but it has a price to match. They're owned by Cisco, and Cisco kit pretty much powers the entire internet.

When your ISP changes IP addresses the Router might be getting "locked" on the old address.
on the back there should be a reset button, push and hold for 15 secs with power on, then unplug for 30 seconds reboot the pc and all should be ok.

These things are infuriating but once you finally get them to work which you have I have never had a problem since.
