I agree thats not correct.... unless its been changed! When attempting to book tickets for the Wembley semi-final a couple of years back, we were unable to book for Friends and family who did not have sufficient points for the open tier available to us.

Doubtless already been mentioned but the way England sort their away tickets works pretty well in my opinion. You apply into a ballot, the top 70% of cap holders/loyalty points that have applied get a guarantee ticket, the remaining 30% goes randomly across everyone else that has applied. It rewards loyalty as top cap holders still get priority but everyone still has a chance at a ticket. That being said, as with any system, there’s still moans about it.

I actually think the way the club have organised the loyalty point system is decent anyway but having experienced both the England system is SLIGHTLY better imo.

I don't understand why 30% of tickets should be randomly assigned to everyone for it to be fair though? The whole point of a loyalty system is that it rewards loyalty and those who have done the yards get the chance to buy tickets - why should everyone get the opportunity to grab a ticket for the most popular fixtures when they aren't interested in the less popular ones?

Let's take Brentford for example. 1,725 tickets available. 30% of that is 517 tickets, so only the top 1200 odd points holders guaranteed a ticket. The reality of this is that you'd need probably 400-420 points to be in the top bracket, which is extremely high. And then you've got someone who has 390 points (and has therefore been to more than 75% of games so far this season) being chucked in with a MyAlbion+ member who has decided that their first away game will be the most in demand fixture. They shouldn't have equal opportunity to grab a ticket.

The system is fair, it rewards those who take up the tickets when we don't sell out our allocation. If you want to be in the top tier, do some yards and build up your loyalty points. I agree its fair to a point - what IMO is not so fair is the 200 point STH points which make it easy to get to the top bracket if you have been a long term STH. I have been taking a new STH to away games we can get ticket for this season, he has managed to accumulated 110 points (once City is added) but will still be in the bottom STH bracket for a couple more years until he has build up enough HOME STH points. That's what isn't right that somebody can attend no away matches all season but still possibly be in a higher bracket than somebody who does do the hard yards.

This thread has become a bit fixtures now as all this has been discussed over and over on NSC before. As I see it no system is perfect and none will please everyone. My only real gripe is the 2nd tier is too broad a range but I guess without that it is harder to move up the tiers.

The difference between The Albion and England though is England tickets (almost) always are oversubscribed with the allocations insufficient.

(In my time as a member the only two aways I recall everyone who wanted one getting one was Andorra in the Barcelona Olympic stadium and Trinidad and Tobago)

Therefore there is an obligation to those that have been vetted and paid top dollar should get a chance of doing at least one away

With the Albion there are several instances during a season where any member or ST holder can get a ticket (yes I know it’s usually up north and/or midweek, but to use a phrase, it’s not a closed shop)

The one thing I’d suggest has everyone’s agreement is the multiple logins thing. Is there anyone out there who thinks that only one login per fan number is somehow unfair and wrong? Surely not.

I fail to understand why you think that is fair! Someone just outside the top 70% might have been to virtually all the qualifiers but then misses out to someone who's been to none!

The biggest problem now is the possibility of Europe meaning those in the top tiers will continue to purchase away tickets when they might not have bother going - I think a fairer system for the final few games is to give ZERO points so its not as attractive for the high pointers to give lower tiers the chance

Said it before, I’ll say it again. I struggle with the points harvesting thing, am I right in thinking there are people that only go to an away match so they can get sufficient points to go to an away match?

This is probably a reflection of my innate hippiness, but I think it would be fair for some tickets to go in a ballot because some people’s circumstances mean they can’t accumulate loads of points no matter how dedicated they are.

I have almost no friends or family, a flexible job and expendable income, so I go to lots of games mainly for something to do and because I can. I know people who care about the Albion a lot more and I’d rather the tickets went to for high-demand games, for whom it’s a comparatively huge effort in terms of time, finances and kids. I get why they’re not in the same tier as a dork like me, but an element more chance would seem a bit fairer.
