I'm very sorry to say that I have no complaints this time, aside from the app that wanted my life history again (hopefully) I cancelled the order & went to the bar. I took my Dad (not quite got him over yet) but he thought it was an amazing place.
I retract the 1st bit now I'm thinking about it!
The first screen on the left (if you're looking outwards) has what I can only describe has a small horizontal scratch on it, that once I'd seen it I couldn't un-see it. There are however 3 other screens.
People shoved up to let my Dad perch on the end of the bench. I was trying to use the app to show Dad how simple it was when there was no queue at the collection point, but as I said I abandoned it & went to the bar.
I was most heartened when I went to the bar, to see the young kid behind the bar, refusing to serve people who looked the same age as him but they didn't have ID. I was extra, extra impressed when he was keeping an eye on the collection point to check they didn't go that way instead. Although he may have only done that because I said well done for standing your ground & not serve them!
Dear youngsters, I'm very sorry for being an old bag, things weren't quite as strict when I was your age. Now I'm old, I'm going to be really pissed off if you don'r get away with the things we did and the Terrace lose their licence. Soz!
Queues were fine, food looked lovely, the atmosphere is what you'd expect for the game. Fair play to the people on the left as you were looking at the screen who were starting a mini North Stand.
There were early leavers but as always I stayed to clap the team off (I still had half a pint).
It was a good atmosphere even though we lost, i'd imagine it to be really good when we win.
Most importantly, there was no buffering or cutting out, slightly weird to hear the Albion TV guy commentating but he was good once the sound was sorted (I'd say he could've been a tiny bit louder). .
In no way what so ever do I think that the current pricing will stay (mainly the free beer). If that's the max they let in, that is perfect, everyone can see the screens and there was no pushing & shoving everyone.
It was a different world to my last venture in there on a match day.
My Dad made me chuckle, he said that whoever thought of putting this in must have a good eye for business. Er yeah, that would be Tony Bloom the reason why we're not still playing at the Withdean.
