[Albion] Brentford vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Andy Naylor literally this month quoted the club as saying the ambition for this season was to reach Europe. Do you think he writes that without sources?

Did you see Tony’s interviews at Cheltenham, did that strike you as a man who wasn’t aiming for Europe.

It’s abundantly clear through various interviews with Bloom and Barber that Europe was the ambition this season. It’s not even that we are falling short, that can happen, it’s the manner we are doing so.
Yeah I think Fab will be under pressure

That may be true. But the ludicrous idea that Potter is the answer is, if anything, even more laughable now than it was last summer. And it was truly laughable then.
Like I said only ones man view thay really matters we can want FH to stay or want him to go but all down to TB

I think you aren’t winning the crowd over here.

Okay, maybe recruitment was not perfect, but these players have played inconsistently. Odd games that’s down to them and is about odd individual performances.

This is now about team performance, and that is down to the manager.
I don’t say what I say to be popular. If I was trying to win a popularity contest I’d just say “AWFUL WE’RE SUNDAY LEAGUE KICK FAB OUT NOW” every time we lose and just harvest a load of likes off Junior and the rest of the crowd who seem to enjoy us losing a lot more than they enjoy us winning.

I’m not saying Fab is perfect, far from it, he’s learning on the job in the toughest league around. But our run from the Forest debacle through to the FA Cup 1/4 final was one of the best we’ve produced in a long time, and I don’t recall too many complaints about the manager or the way the team were playing then.

During Cheltenham Festival he said Brighton had a massive few weeks ahead with a chance to go further in FA Cup and qualify for Europe
And we did have a chance. That isn’t the same as “we are definitely qualifying for Europe and anything else is a catastrophe”.

There is no way that Bloom has spent all that money and will be happy with the chaos he and we are witnessing and not beating relegated teams at home. Its very hard to argue that another decent manager wouldnt be doing much better. Yes we have injuries but you have to adapt to the players who are playing.
And who is this decent manager and where do we get them from?

I was responding to expectations and someone's personal opinion that we have a top 6 squad btw

Hope nothing too serious for van Hecke.

This season is more frustrating (if we do miss out on 8th or higher) because Spurs and ManUtd have been out the running, it opened the door for European spots even wider.

Aiming for Europe and saying “we’re definitely going to be in Europe” are not the same thing. I’m aiming to spend a night of utter debauchery with Sabrina Carpenter, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.
