Defence needs most of its first choice players to not be injured.

Even when all our defence are present, none of our CBs have PL level pace.

If we want to play with everyone pushed up, we have to have the pace in CD to recover when we get turned over.

We don’t, and every team in the Premier League knows this and is using it against us.

You could argue 3 of the 4 playing today are first choice. Webster for dunk maybe certainly based on 2025 form. and veltman or Lampety or even Ferdi at RB. We have invested a lot across the pitch in recent times just feels to me we are a CB or 2 light and it’s the area of the pitch I feel needs the most improvement.

Because Welbeck lost all control of the ball - keeper didn't touch him with his hands, and Welbeck put his legs into the keeper. That is - he dived.

More to the point - why don't we shoot in those positions?
