Because you were bigging him up and all you could come up with was the Dutch cup? Champions League? We’ve sent players out on loan this season who played in the Champions League this season because they are not ready for us yet. Feyenoord? Can we stop pretending Dutch football is all Johan Cruyff, it’s actually bit us on the arse countless times with dud transfers. He was signed on big money to be our marquee central midfielder but has been since overtaken by a 22-year-old, two 21-year-olds and a recent teenager. It’s all incredibly average

Okay, I think he’s a billabong flibbertigibbet. It’s a completely irrelevant combination of words which make no sense in context, but it’s my opinion and you can’t say I’m wrong.
I wasn’t even the person you were originally replying to, that was @Weststander and in fact I haven’t seen much from Wieffer, though he was okay today

Not really, we are disagreeing on a player. Which is the most basic conversation you can have on a football messageboard. You (I think) believe he’s some kind of success story? Hard to say really because you don’t commit to making any kind of overall assessment, on the other hand, I think he’s been a disappointing signing who’s added very little to the squad. I’m not even sure a loving gaze at the Dutch Cup counts as surreal to be fair

I have no idea why you think this. The only thing I’ve said about him is that he was one of our better players today, along with Welbeck. I don’t know if you’re getting my posts confused with someone else or something.
The Dutch cup was used an example of why he isn’t a “journeyman”, the word you used in response to someone else, which is where I joined the conversation.
My post was intended to convey that you misused the word, because a journeyman in football has a large number of clubs, staying a short time, often all over the globe/country depending on their level. Wieffer, factually and regardless of my opinion of his ability, went from a small club as a youth, to a bigger one Exelsior, to a bigger one Feyenoord (where he won a trophy and played in the CL and was a runner up), to a bigger league in the PL with us.
If in ten years, he has had stints in Finland, Qatar, back in the Eerste division in the Netherlands, and fourteen other clubs then fair enough, you’d be right retrospectively.
But he hasn’t. He’s 25, and has had a successful career so far. He’s had a tough season since joining, it hasn’t been a success story, but neither am I writing him off. There’s been good and bad, and he has had injuries and not had a run in the side at least partly because of this.

You have no right to be realistic, so stop it immediately.
We are clearly useless, as we're not likely to be in Europe (even though we still could be), we stink out the Prem, have a crap manager (he's very young, apparently) and a bunch of players who obviously couldn't give a shit.
Sack them all, I say and be damned with it and turn the Amex into an athletic stadium and hurry up about it.
They're not worthy of us as fans.

He has started 3 games in his preferred position.
None of them consecutive.
Today was his first start since getting injured in December, playing as a right back.
Not sure he's been given the chance to be "overtaken".
I was expecting to read about the kerfuffle on the concourse at half time but haven’t seen anything.
I wondered what occurred, however as it did it opened up a bit of a gap at the bar so it was a choice between rubbernecking or getting a pint. I chose the latter.

Because he stopped playing Rutter as a winger/centre forward, and had to play Webster at centre back. The changes were forced on him he didn't make them voluntarily.
Now I get that it's great to have a lucky general and my lord he was lucky, but he isn't working these things out for himself. Amongst the squad we have now is one good enough to get a draw at palace, beat Leicester and get at least a draw at Brentford. 4 more points toward a march to europe. Playing how we have isn't going to make that happen.

We started poorly, went downhill, plateaued, continued to dig, hit rock bottom then made a few death throes before rolling over and getting railed with the final annoyance of having a last dagger through the heart.
But nice to see that one person got abuse from their fellow supporters when there were more than a third singing it and a good deal more thinking it.

He was the only one singing behind us, it did set off other twats in the rest of the ground though. The guy was a pain in the arse from the beginning moaning at everything about the manager. He started the chant too thick to realise that Pedro was to blame not the manager, who IMO had to take Danny off to protect him as he would be the only available striker over the next three games. Still rent a gob had to have his moment in the limelight. Second half fellow supporters told him what they thought and he went silent for the rest of the game.

Whilst the manager MAY have a defence for his unusual subs yesterday , on the whole his changes this year have been left field.
As of yesterday I have moved to the fab out camp having been largely pragmatic up to now. The comments from welbeck tell us all we need to know that things aren't right. Getting into barneys with fellow loyal supporters isn't going to help that.
