Sebo.
Have a look in hotel corridors. Most hotels use Sebo vacuum cleaners.
We've had ours for 20 years, it's been brilliant.
We originally bought it after it was recommended by Which?
By an absolute mile.

Have a shark as well, which in comparison is like comparing a Skoda with a Ferrari. 😂

My friends hoover just packed in it's about 10 years old, are Henry's still as good as they once were? Any others that should be considered?

One that's good with dog hair would be a bonus

Cheers
I have decided to sell my vacuum cleaner. It was collecting dust.

Old 1950s/60s cylinder models (Hoover or Gordon) were the best - they could almost hang from the ceiling their suction was so good. So many modern vacuum cleaners just don't suck, not enough anyway. I've had several over the years - G-Tec, Dyson, VAX - and a couple more I've chucked in the bin in disgust. With all of them I've got fed up having to bend down and pick up small objects of the floor and 'feed' them into the bloody thing because it won't pick them up - or if it does it deposits them back a little way away a few seconds later! I'd love to have one of those old 1950s ones in working order!
I've now got a Henry, which does have a reasonable amount of suck. A bit heavy, but still the best of the bunch of all that I've tried and rejected.

Indeed, Sebos are nearly 500 quid, I'd kinda expect them to work well at that price! I've picked up numerous 2nd hand Miele's for friends for £50, good condition ,still working well and better than anything they'd previously had.

We had Sebo for years and it was easily the best vacuum cleaner we had. However it was heavy and we now have a Shark which is pretty good but so much lighter.

Another vote for Miele. I was so impressed with mine that I bought an additional one for my four-storey house to save ever having to lug it up/down more than one flight of stairs.

Had a Dyson for 6 years, and still going strong, so overall has been fantastic value for money... so have to recommend for this reason.

I have replaced the filter one time - but for me, this is a huge positive - as not a enough consumer items allow you to easily change a part yourself at home for minimal cost.
