I think you may be in a small group there. He's a really enjoyable listen. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Dreadful witterings about some old baloney back in the day...and in jokes with other commentators. Incredibly boring and hardly ever adds anything of merit. Carries on with his inane gibberings even when in the midst of great move or when a fantastic goal is about to be scored. Just shut up! As soon as I hear his voice I reach for the remote and turn the sound down.

Think you’ll be surprised

No, he's not. And no, he's not.
Well, I LIKE him. 😝

Yeah but c'mon he's still better than Shearer and his weird inflection and tone, and that dreadful **** Drury.

I like listening to him when Scotchland aren't playing. Him commentating on an England Scotchland game is unbearable.

Silencing the commentators is Nirvana

Crowd noise only is f***ing perfect but there is no silence as I am abusing and cheering, much to my wife and the dog’s annoyance.
Sky took over BSB in the eighties. BSB offered an option to turn off the commentary. As soon as they took over, Sky removed the option. They and others, are desperate to talk up a match even if it's rubbish, and also to promote their myriad of other programmes, something I am completely uninterested in.

Do we need to worry about coefficient with these or can I go back to not feeling guilty at wanting the English sides to lose in Europe?

Arsenals 1st leg win over Real Madrid sealed the PL getting one of the two extra Champions League spots so no need to worry now and you can laugh at Spurs or United if they crash out.

I wish we could have been playing United in the coming games. It's clear that the Europa League is all they and Spuds care about.
